Duration : 24 months As part of a Research andTechnology Organization (RTO), the work of the EnvironmentalResearch and Innovation (ERIN) Department tackles some of themajor environmental challenges our society is facing today, such asclimate change mitigation, ecosystem resilience, sustainable energysystems, the efficient use of renewable resources, andenvironmental pollution prevention and control.
To this end, themission of the ERIN department is : (1) To conduct impact-drivenscientific research and development, as well as technologicalinnovation (2) To support companies in the implementation of newenvironmental regulations and advise governments on determiningsustainable policies for the future, with the objectives of : Analysing, managing and exploiting sustainable resources (water,air, soil, renewable energy, bio-resources) Reducing theenvironmental impact of human consumption and production activitiesThe selected candidate will join its Environmental Policies group(EPS), a research group of the Sustainability Assessment andCircularity (SUSTAIN) research unit of ERIN.
The EPS group aims tocontribute to a better control of environmental risks and thedevelopment towards a tox-free, circular and sustainable societyvia science based support to the definition, implementation andevaluation of environmental policies at national and EU level andregulatory support for RDI at the interface of science,technologies and policies.
It targets in particular policies aroundchemicals, waste, industrial installations (Commodo), soil andenvironmental management.
