The Data Governance Analyst leads and manages all organization-wide datagovernance activities and will have responsibility for improving the qualityand manage the protection of sensitive data and information assets.

Theposition focuses on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise datagovernance framework for data policies, standards and practices, to achieve therequired level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall businessneeds.

The main job responsibilities are (non exhaustive list) :

  • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmapincluding strategic priorities for development of information-basedcapabilities;
  • Roll out an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus onimprovement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data throughmodifications to organization behaviour standards, principles, governancemetrics, processes, related tools and data architecture;
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensureclear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal informationassets;
  • Serve as a liaison between Business areas and technology to ensure thatdata related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearlydefined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operationalprioritization and planning;
  • Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps,including authoritative systems, owners;
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data governancestandards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across theenterprise;
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliancewith data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoptionrequirements;
  • In conjunction with IT, provide progress reports to Board management andoversee periodic updates to the Department Data Governance Roadmap
  • Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements :

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance / reinsurance organization,with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience.
  • Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection managementpractices
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issuesrelated to management of enterprise
  • Consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • Strong results orientation and ability to improve processes for higherbusiness performance
  • Strong communication; collaboration and networking skills
  • Proven track record in insurance / reinsurance business
  • Excellent knowledge of English, knowledge of French and German is anasset
  • Positive mind and drive and highly motivated to drive change
