Our client is an independent owner and operator of a diversified portfolio of office and industrial properties in Europe with a focus on Germany and The Netherlands.
They are recruiting a Tax Director to join the Luxembourg office (20 skilled professionals among 140 worldwide).
Reporting to the European Finance Director, your main responsibilities will be : Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance within German and Luxembourg tax regulations and provide support with respect to other European jurisdictions.
Manage the compliance requirements for all of European operations, ensuring deadlines are adhered to.
Review and filing of periodical and annual VAT and CIT returns in Germany and Luxembourg.
Supervise and lead members of the European Tax team (2 people) and manage the compliance calendar to coordinate timing and inputs with the business units.
Coordinating and managing services and fees provided by external tax and accounting advisors.
Optimize efficiency and controls by improving processes, introducing tax technology / automation, and implementing best practices.
Dealing with tax accounting (local GAAP and IFRS), reporting, and forecasting current and deferred taxes on a regular basis, ensuring internal reporting deadlines are strictly adhered to.
Manage and coordinate audits by various tax authorities.
Assist Dream’s mergers & acquisitions team with respect to tax due diligence, structuring, and financing of transactions and reorganizations.
Provide tax support to the business leaders and global head office with European international tax expertise.
Liaise with and respond to requests from head office.
Required qualifications and experience : At least ten years in a real estate investment company with concrete experience in German (and Luxembourg) tax regulation.
Master-degree in business administration with a Tax and Accounting specialization.
Fluent in English and German.
Previous experience leading a team.
Strong analytical, presentation, and organizational skills to manage multiple work streams simultaneously to meet deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in Excel modelling, and a strong understanding of tax technology.
