Purpose
In this role, you will drive and manage the planning, design, implementation, testing and maintenance for a set of advanced analytics applications and solutions for quantitative analysts and traders.
Operating Network
You will report to the Head of Treasury & Borrowings Unit and collaborate closely with other teams in IT and professionals in finance.
You will be part of a dedicated product team, whose mission is to develop with the business a set of advanced analytical tools for the Front and Middle-Office decision making and monitoring/control purposes. Those tools will serve the Bank to better record, interpret and assess risks.
Accountabilities
- Perform business analysis, collect requirements, prepare solution design and participate in the full life cycle of the application development, deployment and support
- Propose ideas to develop new technical solutions and participate in the choice of appropriate new IT solutions (e.g. acquisition of packages and/or development of internal programs) in the areas of finance to ensure that the Bank’s application systems are in line with business requirements while remaining cost effective
- Work with financial and market analysts as well as other IT teams to integrate systems and data quickly and effectively
Qualifications
- University degree preferably in Information Technology
- At least 5 years’ of relevant professional experience in the full-stack software development environment
- Experience with software development using Python, other coding languages will be considered an advantage
- Ability to query data using SQL
- Experience working in agile environment or knowledge of agile methodologies
- Ability to design full-stack applications, develop web services (REST/SOAP) and integrate with vendor APIs
- Experience in testing, building and deploying automation
- Previous experience in project management would be considered an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and good command of French (*). Knowledge of another language of the European Union would be an asset.

(*) There may be certain flexibility on this requirement, but limited to particularly suitable candidates who may not yet be proficient in French. If selected, such candidates will be hired on the condition that they build up rapidly knowledge of French and accept that their future career in the EIB may be subject to the attainment of sufficient proficiency in both of the Bank's working languages
Panel interviews are anticipated from August 2022.
The term of this contract will be 4 years.
The EIB offers fixed-term contracts of up to a maximum of 6 years, according to business needs, with a possibility to convert to a permanent contract, subject to organisational requirements and individual performance.
