The University of Luxembourg has the following vacancy in the Cancer Cell Biology Group (Prof. Dr. Daniel Abankwa) at the Department for Life Sciences and Medicine, Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine :
Postdoctoral fellow position in the field of RAS cancer cell biology (M / F)
The postdoctoral fellow will work in the Cancer Cell Biology group under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Abankwa. The Cancer Cell Biology group focuses on understanding how the notorious oncogene RAS drives cancer cell stemness and how to drug target it (eRASeCancer.wordpress.com).
This project will be carried out in tight collaboration with Prof. Christian Eggeling (Jena / Oxford), a world leader in superresolution microscopy methods.
The particular aim of this project is to understand, how on the fundamental cell biological level oncogenic RAS proteins drive cancer cell stemness.
We aim at identifying non-canonical activities in particular of KRAS that spatio-temporally organize the cell division machinery.
This work will help to understand the puzzling question, why in particular KRAS is highly mutated.
We will employ a broad spectrum of techniques, with a focus on quantitative fluorescence methods (confocal imaging, FRET, FRAP, STED, FCS), molecular cell biology and chemo-genetics approaches.
Candidates should submit the following documents in pdf format :
The motivation letter needs to contain short statements on : 1) Explanation of your overall self-assessment of academic achievements, e.
3) List of best experimental skills acquired in degree projects. The University of Luxembourg is an equal opportunity employer.
Please send your application respectively via the online submission link by 13 / 04 / 2020. For further information, please contact Prof.
