Support the development and drive the implementation of the University’s internationalisation strategy
With the rector, drive the University’s strategic partnerships and oversee their development, including actively promoting dynamic student and staff exchange
Provide expert advice and support to the University management on international issues
Provide expert advice and scrutinize international agreements and project applications
Lead the International Relations Office team and structure its activity, including professional development of staff and yearly planning
Welcome international visitors and coordinate international missions from and to the University of Luxembourg
Manage current relationships and foster new contacts with partner universities, embassies and other external stakeholders
Represent the University at external functions, where appropriate
Build and maintain professional relationships with key faculty, staff and administrators
Contribute to the further development of efficient processes linked to internationalisation activities

Academic degree at Master’s level in an area relevant for the position
Minimum 5 years of working experience in the field of internationalization in higher education
Excellent knowledge of internationalisation of Higher Education frameworks (current trends) and tools (joint degrees, partnership agreements, etc.
European funding schemes (notably Erasmus+) and models of higher education across the world
Knowledge of the Luxembourg higher education and research sector is an asset
Proficiency in English and French, German and / or Luxembourgish are an asset
Capacity to deal with complex issues, consider University of Luxembourg constraints and regulations, understand demands from various stakeholders, and propose solutions, adopting a problem-solving orientation
Leadership and coordination skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Tact, diplomacy and empathy
Flexibility and ability to easily adapt in a changing environment
The position includes regular travels abroad.
