Amazon’s Europe Operations Employee Relations (ER) team is looking for a Program Manager, Employee Relations with a demonstrated passion for building and sustaining positive, engaged work environments for associates and leaders, significant employee and labor relations subject matter expertise and proven success as a leader of people to join our EU ER Project Management Office.
The Employee Relations team is responsible for reducing risk to the business by creating and executing programs to develop the next generation of high-
performing, associate-centric frontline leaders. The Program Manager, Employee Relations will play a vital role in advancing our mission.
The Employee Relations is a tight-knit team of ER professionals, including former HR, operational and legal leaders. We are passionate about improving our leaders’ skill sets in associate engagement across the organization.
In this role, you will take ownership of a strategic area of focus and you will lead and deliver key ER initiatives that will change the way we operate our business.
The projects that you will be driving vary in scope and context, including ER Optimization and Capabilities, Systems Implementation, Process Improvement as well as the conception and implementation of innovative ER Programs.
This role offers high visibility to our ER, HR and Operations Leadership Teams.
This role is both, a strategic and hands-on. The Program Manager owns and drives the entire project cycle from initial conception, initiation through to design, test and roll-
out of the specific initiatives in a complex and fluid environment. To achieve this, the Program Manager will work closely with key subject matter experts and decision-
makers across the business. This role requires the incumbent to leverage strong stakeholder management skills, being able to influence on different organizational levels, elicit and work with knowledge from across the organization and to define and gain buy in for clear plans of actions in an ambiguous environment.
The key responsibilities of this role will include, but not limited to :
Responsible for the planning and effective execution of the full project cycle, leading international project teams and partnering with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Project focus areas include workforce flexibility initiatives as well as initiatives focused on ER Optimization, continuous improvement, organizational design and capability.
Responsible for the building-up and maintenance of project governance structures, driving effective decisions and report-
outs to wider stakeholder groups
Continually evaluate solutions for quality, business impact, and scalability. Conduct post-implementation evaluations to understand successes and improvement opportunities for the designed solution.
Build and maintain successful partnerships with the EU ER team, HR stakeholders and key business sponsors across EU and WW Operations network, including regular reporting on project progress and status
Directing, supporting and coaching project(s) leads and team members.
Being an expert in ER industry best practices, constantly understanding the pulse on the new trends and initiatives.
Basic Qualifications and Competencies
To be considered for this role candidates need to clearly demonstrate the following basic qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Human Resources Management, a business related discipline or Social Sciences
Proven experience and expertise in ER, HR or Project Management within an intense fast paced customer driven environment
Substantial and proven hands-on experience in managing complex projects in an international and / or matrix environment with significant involvement in both, design and implementation
Experience in project management and facilitation of process improvement initiatives with a thematic focus on either of the following areas
o ER / HR Optimization
o Continuous Process Improvement
o ER / HR Technology / Systems implementation
o Workforce Flexibility / Workforce Planning / Rostering
Experience leading and influencing small and international project teams to deliver results
Application of relevant project management methodologies to organize high volume workload, to prioritize and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Working knowledge of LEAN / Six Sigma principles, rules, systems and tools with experience supporting improvement activity and workshops through consulting, coaching, training and facilitation as required in a highly customer centric environment
Working knowledge of key ER concepts and processes, trends in ER technology, architecture and operating models as well as the European and country specific legislative context into which ER is embedded
Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
Advanced Excel and numerical skills, being able to work with large datasets, extract relevant metrics and to evaluate and analyze data succinctly

Program / project management experience in ER / HR
Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing company-wide programs
Experience working across European countries, especially Germany, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Luxembourg
Fluency in any other European language, especially German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech or Slovak
Experience using standard change management methodology; ability to simplify complex topics and deliver training and communications to broad and international audiences.
Experience defining technical requirements and working with systems resources
Experience in leading data-driven decision making using both qualitative and quantitative data
Qualification in project management
