Job Description & Summary
A career in our Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) and AML Unit, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients with meeting their regulatory Compliance obligations in the field of AML and Financial Crime.
We prevent, respond to and remediate a wide range of business threats, risks and complex issues that our clients are obliged to comply with.
We are supporting their ongoing monitoring and review obligations with regards to AML, Sanctions and AFC as well as performing remediation and back-log analysis projects.
For our clients - banks and other financial market participants - it is becoming increasingly important to exercise due diligence and learn more about their customers, identify the beneficial ownership of the funds and assess the risk of using services and products for illicit purposes.
Our knowledge and experience helps our clients in coping with this burden and comply with both their regulatory and social responsibilities.
An effective AML program means not only tangible financial savings in the form of avoided regulatory fines for a bank. It is primarily a means toward a more secure and stable business environment and the knowledge, that the institution is safeguarded against criminal activity.
The project delivered by us are very diverse. Our teams have performed an array of tasks, including creating "Know-Your-Client" (KYC) procedures for the purposes of high-risk client review, performing analysis of the clients' transactional activity scanning for red flags, assessing and documenting instances of politically exposed persons in the client population, as well as working on streamlining, improving and automating processes already in place.
Our team provides solutions and support for clients dealing with regulatory and crisis situations and to address enforcement or remedial action obligations.
As part of the team, you’ll help provide support to our clients responding to regulatory enquiries or operational challenges to ensure regulatory compliance.
You’ll also help clients review and remediate systems and controls to prevent further issues.

In the ever-changing landscape of the financial market, countless transactions, numerous types and structures of legal entities, complex legislation and the unyielding creativity of fraudsters in their attempts to circumvent the law, the nature of the work carried out by the team is best described by an analogy to the detective work.
Actively searching and securing information from various sources, performing thorough analyses of complex data sets, picking up patterns of suspicious behavior and other red flags in the intricate mosaic of client data, collecting evidence and acting on the in line with the relevant regulations - all of this constitutes an essential part of every PwC Anti-Financial Crime project.
As an Analyst in the AFC / AML Services Unit, you will :
Work as part of a team of problem solvers with strong AML, Anti-Financial Crime and industry experience, helping clients address their operational compliance challenges across a range of AML and Anti-Financial Crime topics.
Assist the team in delivering quality Anti-Financial Crime services to a list of top tier / priority clients.
Be able to experience and help our clients hands-on with regards AML and AFC challenges
Proactively assisting in client engagements covering several Financial Crime related topics, while reporting to Managers and above.
Establishing effective working relationships with colleagues and direct client exposure
Performing hands-on AML / AFC compliance control tasks with attention to detail and operational rigor
Considering, and where appropriate, help develop effective and efficient methodologies for the team to execute on client engagements.
Ensuring adherence to client assignment / engagement mandates and expectations with regards to operational performance and client deadlines.
Ensuring adherence to PwC policies and procedures, including those that apply to risk management.
Staying abreast of current AML business and industry trends relevant to our client's business.
Considering and, where appropriate, helping to develop effective and efficient methodologies for teams to execute on client engagements
You don't have to be a graduate of economics or finance. We look for both specialists with ample experience as well as graduates and students of business, law, linguistics or IT.
Working in the team is an interdisciplinary affair, connecting finance, law, compliance, politics and culture, allowing people with disparate backgrounds to align and excel in our firm.
You pay attention to details, manage time appropriately and work under tight deadlines
Previous experience in operational compliance, client onboarding or administrative support are considered an advantage.
