The Head of Public Policy, EU Delivery Services, will be responsible for developing and executing government affairs advocacy objectives and political priorities for Amazon on issues related to logistics and parcel delivery across the EU.
Working collaboratively with national public policy experts, business leaders and support functions, the chosen candidate will set the public policy and advocacy agenda at the EU level and nationally across Europe for Amazon’s delivery services organization encompassing third-party carrier relationships and Amazon’s ultra-fast last mile delivery, ensuring alignment between business priorities and public policy goals.
The role will assess and communicate potential government activities and political developments back to the business, develop mitigation or enhancement strategies and positions, and help coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives in concert with business objectives.
She / he will be responsible for effectively educating policymakers, regulators, and their staffs on postal and logistics issues with the aim of obtaining and / or maintaining regulatory and policy flexibility for Amazon’s postal, transportation and logistics efforts.
As appropriate, she / he will work with others on the public policy team to facilitate high-level meetings between executives and key stakeholders to promote and advocate the company’s public policy objectives.
She / He will work with others in public policy to determine, maintain, and staff appropriate corporate membership opportunities in industry associations and political organizations.
This position is preferably based in Luxembourg, but there is flexibility for the right candidate to be based in Brussels or in one of Amazon’s country head offices (London, Paris, Munich, Milan, Madrid).
The candidate will be expected to spend a significant time in Luxembourg for the purposes of interacting with key business stakeholders.
The role reports to the Head of Public Policy overseeing EU operations and expansion initiatives, based in Luxembourg.
