Backend Developer / Software Engineer

Division and role :

The Group Digital Capabilities (GDC) Division ensures Euroclear’s competitiveness by delivering reliable and sustainable IT solutions for the financial securities markets.

Our technical teams deliver new IT solutions and improve existing applications for both our internal and external clients.

We deploy changes into the production environment in a controlled and structured way that does not compromise production stability and we ensure applicative production support.

Our non-technical people maintain the maturity of the IT project delivery with appropriate controls in line with the group’s risk appetite and reducing development and running costs.

Emerging technologies such as Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), cloud, artificial intelligence and API coupled with strategic trends such as ESG could be game-changers for our industry.

Euroclear seeks to seize opportunities created by these new technologies and strategic trends to develop product, services and capabilities addressing market inefficiencies and strengthen Euroclear market infrastructure role.

The Innovation tribe within IT is the delivery arm of these game changing digital capabilities, across business lines and entities.

To support its growth and ambitions, we are reinforcing the team with a blockchain developer and working within a fast paced truly agile environment.

A Backend Developer / Software Engineer is part of the delivery team and designs and builds high-quality code efficiently and at pace.

Tasks

Design and implement complex API endpoints and business logic

Design and implement complex integrations with other internal tier-layers (Front-end, API Gateway, messaging hub, communication hub) and with external components

Ensure design consistency across the various back-end components composing the solutions

Writing and executing unit tests for components implemented

Ensure code is compliant from a security and coding guidelines point of view

Code Reviews for components developed by other developers making part of the team and for critical components

Take ownership and accountability of the delivery of product features in an agile approach

Deliver software components to be integrated with distributed ledger technology

Coach & support junior / medior developers and act as a design authority for the team

Qualification : Experience

Experience

5-7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer

Proven history of designing and delivering high-quality, complex, scalable systems

Proven history of using Agile methodologies

Excellent programming skills in Java, Scala, Kotlin, DotNet Core

Used to achieve low level design and to document it properly

Understanding of secure coding practices, data structures, and resilient system building

Understanding of distributed ledger technology and market infrastructures (a plus but not mandatory)

Have working experience with Microsoft Azure cloud and Devops
