Full-time position, 40 hours / week
As part of the LCSB Operations, the Innovation and Partnering team is responsible for technology transfer & innovation advice and support to the LCSB and its research groups.
The team provides support for internal innovation projects and for partnering with both public and private external collaborators.
Its aim is developing partnerships and business models related to the LCSB’s innovation projects in the context of national and international collaborations in the area of Biomedicine.
Develop close interactions with innovation leaders within the LCSB and assess the innovation potential of projects across the LCSB R&D portfolio
Create and develop business models and initiate partnerships across the LCSB and with industry by bridging the academic and business worlds
Identification and liaising with potential future clients and collaborators
Building up industrial and governmental sponsored innovation projects
Advice and coach innovation project leaders for interactions with investors and industry
Provide expertise and support for the development of funding proposals (such as FNR PoC, FNR Pathfinder, business plans, etc)
Drive business cases and transfer strategies to market implementation
Identify and evaluate potential spin off candidate technologies and liaise with the UL central entrepreneurship initiatives and the UL incubator
Reconcile business plans with the key milestones of wider industry and regulatory bodies
Liaising and relationship building with collaboration partners, industry, and investors and enabling of their interaction with LCSB innovation leaders
Input on drafting & negotiating collaboration and licensing agreements (academic and company partners) whilst interacting with the LCSB and UL legal affairs and TTO
Develop appropriate transfer strategies, delivering revenue, savings and audience benefit
Education / Experience :
Master in the area of life sciences with connection to biomedical topics; PhD is a plus
Strong professional background in management, consulting, and / or business strategy
Experience in the public research sector
Professional experience in knowledge transfer, science and project management
Knowledge of marketing and communication of science
Understanding the needs of both start-ups and large corporates as well as public stakeholder
Very experienced relationship manager, strong communication skills, high interpersonal intelligence
Very good presentation skills
Diplomatic negotiation style
Quick comprehension of new (scientific) topics and projects
Commitment to continued training and learning
Awareness of the rules and restrictions of both the public research as well as the business world
Proficiency in English and in French and / or German, Luxembourgish is a plus
