Leading international law firm Clifford Chance is seeking a highly motivated Knowledge Lawyer for its tax practice in Luxembourg.
With around 110 lawyers and 10 Partners, the Luxembourg Office of Clifford Chance is a respected player in the Luxembourg legal services market.
We are looking for a lawyer with some experience in tax structuring who can proactively bring value-add to the fee-earners of the practice / group by gathering and spreading knowledge and know-how.
Working alongside the lawyers and tax advisors, the role will be expected to deliver on a variety of activities, notably know-how management and training, legal watch and participation to various working and lobbying groups (ALFI, LPEA, CMA, ABBL, etc).
The successful applicant will report to the Partner of the tax group.
He / she will also liaise with the different people within the network in charge of Knowledge Management, to maximise the use of Clifford Chance global resources and share best practices.
Contract : permanent contract (CDI)
Hours : 20 to 40 hours per week
Process new legislations, regulations, guidelines; process case law (domestic, EU, direct taxes, VAT);
Organise resources (legislation, precedent, external); assist with training (intra tax or external, intra CC or external)
Attend to various lobbying groups (HPCF, ALFI, ABBL, LPEA, Lux CMA),
Organize resources and contribute to initiatives (assist with memo and bill proposal)
Contribute to the drafting of publications;
Prepare communications to clients to disseminate Clifford Chance expertise and knowledge;
Assist with conferences, contribute to the visibility and external profile of the tax practice;
Coordinate internal and external deal announcements;
Produce lists of credentials for pitches and submission to legal directories.
Training Learning and development
Support group's legal education program;
Organize regular internal meetings and conferences to share practices and knowledge.
Local and global initiatives Project management relating to KM initiatives
Assist in the coordination and alignment of legal knowledge management initiatives within the Luxembourg office and across the firm;
Participate actively to any local and global initiative in terms of Knowledge Management.
Education and Experience
An excellent academic background in law;
At least 3 years of experience as a lawyer / advisor in a tax practice (law firm or accounting firm);
A strong set of project management skills;
Ability to be self-motivated and work independently and to drive projects and initiatives till completion;
Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written;
Good analytical skills;
Enthusiastic, positive and proactive attitude with pragmatic and hands-on approach;
Demonstrated service orientation;
Project management, organizational and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines;
High level of accuracy and attention to detail and meticulous follow-through;
Ability to work as part of a team and with lawyers of all levels of seniority.
Language and IT skills
Fluency in French and English;
German would be considered as an asset;
Strong command of Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;
Experience in using knowledge management tools and software will be considered as plus.
