For one of our clients, we are currently looking for an Operational Maintenance Manager ( Earth Observation Satellite / Complex Ground Software Systems / Operational Maintenance ) What we can do together By joining us, you will lead a team assigned to the Operational Maintenance and ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) of an Earth Observation (EO) Satellite system linked to the Defense Sector.

Operations are conducted from customer premises located in Luxembourg.

As Operational Maintenance Manager, you will join the Operations team and will be managing maintenance activities of the Ground Segment (GS) of the EO system.

The GS is an IT system, made of Linux servers and workstations, which aims at monitoring and controlling the satellite, collecting image orders, planning satellite activities, processing raw data to provide image products to end users, storing image products.

  • Your main missions will be to : Make sure that the system is operational 24 / 7; Coordinate maintenance team activities (shifts, leaves);
  • Monitor system performances with respect to Service Level Agreement (SLA); Monitor HW, SW providers performances with respect to SLA;
  • Monitor Problem Report resolution time in Jira (PR monitoring tool); Plan system upgrades; Maintain System configuration accordingly;
  • Analyze obsolescence reports; Participate to Problem Review Boards (prb); Monitor spare refurbishment plan; Prepare and lead customer meetings / reviews regarding anomaly resolution performance;
  • Monitor maintenance costs; Support to manage backup policy.

    In this role, you will be directly reporting to the Service Manager of the system.

    In addition, you will be in charge of maintaining company required performance and maintenance records for identified equipments.

    You will review equipment performance for unresolved or repetitive issues and lengthy repairs.

    Findings and plan will be discussed for improvement with management.

    You will also identify opportunities for continuous improvement in quality, cost, yield & efficiency of the automation equipment, and contribute to the evolutions of the system.

    You will regularly provide progress reports, meeting minutes, slide decks, technical notes.

    About you With an Engineering / Master's Degree in Computer Science or Aerospace Engineering, you have a minimum of 8 to 10 years' professional experience, with at least 3 years in a similar role.

    A strong working experience in an IT Linux system is required.

    On top of that, you have a thorough knowledge of software based components and equipment, and of network administration.

    You demonstrate strong problem solving skills.

    Prior experience in the field of technical support and maintenance, supporting customers in system / network / application trouble shooting is mandatory.

    You are familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and program scheduling tools.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Jira is a plus.

    Experience in an EO system, knowledge of Aerospace, Lean management, Cloud architecture bring additional value.

    As a proven manager, you have demonstrated organizational, reporting, risk monitoring, configuration management and coordination skills.

    Fully reliable, you focus on details, prioritize tasks and deliver upon commitments even in high pressure environments.

    Leading by example, you demonstrate a high sense of ethics.

    You have already participated in international, multi-organizations projects.

    You are eager to manage a multi-cultural team and willing to develop people.

    With a collaborative mindset, you have strong communication and relational skills.

    You enjoy presenting and liaising with external stakeholders, such as customers, partners and specialist working groups.

    You are flexible to be on-call and to work during non-standard business hours when necessary.

    Highly proficient in spoken and written English, any other language is welcome.
