Your team

Pictet Alternative Advisors (Europe) S.A. ( PAAESA ), part of the Pictet Group, is a Luxembourg limited liability company authorised by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) as an alternative investment fund manager (AIFM) in accordance with the law of 12 July 2013 on alternative investment fund managers, as amended.

PAAESA has a strong focus on private equity and real estate (funds, co-investment and direct opportunities).

As part of an AIFM composed of six individuals, you will manage, under the supervision of the Conducting Officer and Senior Portfolio Manager, all aspects of portfolio management tasks related to the onboarding and subsequent investment management of the AIFM managed funds in Luxembourg.

You will be covering closed ended funds specialized in alternative investments (strong focus on private equity, real estate, venture capital, and distressed credit asset classes).

To note that the Portfolio Management function is not delegated.

Your role

  • Assisting with portfolio and investment programme management (primary, secondary, co-investments and direct investments in private equity / venture capital, real estate and distressed credit).
  • Supporting the senior portfolio manager in preparing, attending, contributing at and documenting Investment Committee meetings.
  • This involves detailed analysis of the investment opportunities received from the Investment Advisor. This is not a Direct Investment underwriting role.

  • Being involved in the liquidity management of some of the funds under AIFM’s management.
  • Providing assistance with the regular follow-up of each investment.
  • Contributing to the production of reports and quarterly board presentations
  • Serving as Director in SPVs
  • Working closely with the risk management and compliance teams of the AIFM for the onboarding of new funds and co-investments.
  • Conducting all relevant tasks as required by applicable laws and regulation, in particular the AIFM Directive.
  • Helping to supervise relevant tasks performed by third parties with respect to each investment.
  • Your profile

  • Master’s Degree in Finance or Economics (or qualification deemed equivalent); a postgraduate-type qualification such as a CAIA or CFA would be an advantage. MBA would be a big plus.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant work experience as an investment manager, portfolio manager, investment banker or member of a Big Four's transaction advisory team.
  • Strong interest and experience in alternative investments. This is neither a public markets investment role, nor a heavy quantitative portfolio manager role.
  • Previous experience in private assets with an AIFM would be a major asset.
  • Proven experience with liquidity management would be a definite plus.
  • Previous experience in alternative investments is required. Strong experience in corporate finance (e.g. as an equity analyst) could be enough.
  • Experience in several alternative asset classes is a definite plus.

  • A natural ability to build a rapport with different sets of individuals and positively challenge the opinions of others
  • Perfect command of English required. An ability to hold work-related conversations in French would be highly valued, but not required.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Financial modeling skills are needed.
  • Strong interest and ability to learn new things and curiosity to learn more about various industries and companies.
  • Note

We will not accept any CVs via agencies.

In accordance with the provisions of the Luxembourg law of 23 July 2016 amending the law of 29 March 2013, candidates may be required to provide an extract from their criminal record.

This document, issued by the authorities, must not be older than three months. Such a document will be requested with the aim of carrying out a character check on candidates, bearing in mind the area of activity of our establishment and, more particularly, the tasks described in the job description.
