Manpower is recruiting for one of its clients in Luxembourg, a European Institution : Operational Assistant (M / W) Risk department

S / he reports to the Head of the Model Validation Division and works in close collaboration with a team of validation officers.

He / she interacts regularly with other risk management officers, in particular those responsible for modelling and risk analysis (derivatives, credit risk models, IRRBB, liquidity, etc.

and with colleagues in other Directorates, such as RM / FIN / DER, RM / FIN / ALM or FI / SPBS / FPM. Tasks :

Check model inventory gathering Excel files for missing data, entry errors and inconsistencies that need corrections from model owner

Help configuring ClusterSeven IMS model inventory tool

Work with ClusterSeven on importing input files into the tool, including eventual manual corrections in the tool and transforming files to allow their import

Perform updates in the model inventory based on the model owners’ feedback

Work with IT on implementing model inventory / recommendations dashboards in Lumira

Profile :

Post-graduate university degree, preferably in Mathematics, Quantitative Finance and / or Statistics. Professional qualifications, such as PRMIA or GARP certificates, would be an advantage.

Up to 2 years of relevant professional experience acquired with a major financial institution, with implication in one or more of the following areas :

Data maintenance

Model Risk management

Excel is a must (to transform content of files to spec as required by the inventory tool)

XML constitutes a plus (to help with configuring the inventory tool)

Strong critical thinking skills to provide effective challenge to models developed internally and by vendors. .

Ability to work effectively in a high pressure, fast paced environment with multiple deadlines and competing priorities.

Soft skills : ability to argue for and defend his own opinion based on facts and logical arguments. Being able to challenge the opinion of others.

Very good knowledge of English and / or French and a good command of the other (*). Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
