Would you like to enhance your legal skills and to contribute towards the growing and established business of the asset management arm of the Nordea Group?

We are now looking for a Legal Counsel - Business Law, Luxembourg to assist with the business legal expansion of Nordea Investment Funds S.

A. (NIFSA), establishing and maintaining its foreign entities as well as contribute to the maintenance of a sound contractual framework of such companies.

Nordea Asset Management (NAM) is the centre of investment management in the Nordea Group and in the Asset & Wealth Management division.

About this opportunity

Welcome to the NIFSA Business Law team, having the aim of coordinating the business legal aspects, including senior management support in various strategic projects, and legal governance of foreign presences through various forms as well as legal issues.

What you’ll be doing :

Be the point of entry and follow-up for the legal negotiations and review of fund distribution agreements, and alike, with business

Become an important stakeholder regarding the legal aspects of fund marketing’s expansion and strengthening, and ensure a constructive, relevant and timely dialogue with business in relation thereof

Secure the legal soundness of contractual arrangements of NIFSA and its foreign presences (core as well as daily arrangements, e.

g. with service providers), run the legal assessment of such arrangements and guide internal counterparties as to the required corporate steps

Run independently the legal aspects of projects being either Group or regulatory led

Assist with the corporate expansion of NIFSA and its legal and regulatory maintenance

Maintain active relations with internal as well as external stakeholders including but not limited to units in the NIFSA and NAM value chain as well as legal advisors

You’ll join a truly multicultural and multilingual NAM Business & Corporate law team consisting of approximately 25 lawyers spread over Luxembourg, Copenhagen and Stockholm.

The role is based in Luxembourg.

Your experience and background :

A legal degree with relevant Luxembourg experience (+ 3 years) in an asset management environment, and / or a law firm or a consulting company with an established focus on legal and regulatory matters impacting the fund industry as well as its products in Luxembourg

Good knowledge of the Luxembourg legal and regulatory environment including international standards and demands

Fluency in English, verbal and written is a prerequisite. Italian, French, German or a Nordic language is considered a distinct advantage
