Head of Private Equity Director of Client Services

We are seeking a talented Director of Private Equity to take up a senior client service role with a responsibility for a large and growing section of a leading Fund Services business.

The successful candidate will be a combination of high technical ability, with a good broad experience of Private Equity Funds / Fund Administration, and strong client orientation.

Through a direct line management of around 5-6 key senior staff members, this person will shape and build the strategy for the PE business in Luxembourg, one of the main driving locations for this business globally.

The right candidate will manage a number of key client relationships, working hand-in-hand with operational staff. The total staff in the unit area is around 60, but is growing.

The right candidate will have a strong history of client service delivery in PE Fund environments for over 10 years, and the combination of skills we are looking for is equally strong on both the technical ability and the client side.

The person should bring a high level of emotional intelligence to the role, where interaction with senior internal and external stakeholders will come naturally to arrive at the desired outcomes in the business plan.

On the client side they will be an experienced commercial player, equally comfortable pitching business as managing the commercial performance of their business area.

There is strong progression available for the right person, as the firm is growing both globally and locally. The PE arm of this firm is one of its most successful, with a high level of both SPV business and good quality, developed Fund-

level work. As such, we need a candidate highly skilled at working with complex fund mechanics including US GAAP and IFRS.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Protect, grow and develop operational revenues & profitability over time through both eradicating errors in operations, and identifying new opportunities that grow the business
  • Review service delivery across clients in the PE space, including implementing specific account service delivery plans where appropriate through direct reports.
  • Identify key resources and investments necessary to underpin this plan.

  • Run the annual business plan, and review on a regular basis, using client and market insight to support assumptions where required.
  • Engage other senior members of the management team when required to resolve systemic issues in meeting client service requirements.
  • Develop and translate business opportunities into new revenue, identifying opportunities for revenue growth or efficiencies in existing working.
  • Skill Set :

  • Strong assessment, and problem-solving skills, able to plan solutions accordingly championing new solutions where necessary.
  • Proficient with numerical analysis - forecasting billing performance and identifying positive or negative variances, able to analyse root cause and act to optimize revenue achievement.
  • Able to make strong decisions, take proactive measures to pursue an opportunity, address an issue or prevent a problem.
  • Proven track record in strategic client management, management with conviction and strong leadership capabilities.
