Customs Compliance :
Monitor customs regulatory and legislative changes for Gates EU and UK sites
Ensures compliance in new business models
Conduct duty calculations for sales and procurement projects
Provides customs support for Gates entities and customers
Supports in trade - related issues
Issues export control certificates.
Develop, implements and monitors customs authorizations, processes and data
Issues suppliers' declarations as per customs preferential regulation for EU customers
Creates origin certificates as per customer's requirements
Manages customs data in ERP system (origin and customs codes)
Completes supplier screenings (OCR) - export control related
Supports the coordination of import / export shipments with the Corporate Logistics and Compliance departments.
Assigns HTS classifications, Export Control Classification (ECCN) FDA import product codes and country of origin information
Supports projects focused on improving business operations and processes.
Coordinates with Customer Service and logistics to troubleshoot problem orders / shipments.
Is responsible for auditing customs brokerage and shipment transactions and files
Develops presentations and effectively communicates results with recommended action plans to management.
Uses data analysis / modeling to create new reports; troubleshoots and modifies existing reports including target KPIs, commodity indices, cost savings opportunities, etc.
Partners on initiatives to support the creation of new reports, metrics and dashboards based on business needs.
Provides necessary compliance training to operational personnel.
Has expertise in multiple areas of import and export laws such as HTS Classification, Country of Origin, Free Trade Agreements, Customs Valuation.
Provide risk assessment and Identifies and develops business processes to address compliance risks
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : List the essential functions that are core to this position and represent at least 5% of the incumbent"s time.
Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below. 1 20%Creates origin declarations for customers, preferential and non-preferential 2 35%Acts as subject matter expert to ensure operational compliance with compliance laws 3 10%Manages customs data in ERP system, 4 10%Classifies new and existing manufactured products according to tariff rules 5 20%Participates in set up of new business models ensuring customs compliance 6 5%Completes supplier screenings (export control)
5 to 8 years of relevant experience in the field of customs, customs brokerage or similar industry
Must have dealt with with trade and customs matters
Must have strong knowledge of import / export regulations, Free trade agreements and Country of Origin specifics
Fluency in English is a must
