Senior Manager, Information Systems & Cloud Platform (m / f)

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The position is responsible globally for the architecture, design and implementation of all SES systems inside and outside its data centres and cloud environments.

The incumbent will lead a team to insure the continued availability of the systems, the implementation of disaster recovery plans as well as the implementation of new system and platform projects and solutions.

In addition, the incumbent ensures the continued development of the SES systems to achieve maximum efficiency and innovation.

The position is also responsible for the overall enterprise wide effectiveness and efficiency of data centre technology systems, cloud platforms and for ensuring that high levels of internal customer satisfaction are maintained.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Lead and manage the IS Global Infrastructure team
  • Manage the implementation and day to day functions related to creating Business Continuity Plans and Procedures, manage Disaster Recovery operations
  • Design and implement global system architecture using industry best practice / innovation as well as SES IT defined architecture standards and guideline
  • Track and achieve RTO / RPO for each application and service or escalating any issues
  • Oversee and coordinate business continuity and restoration plans that isolate problems and implement pre-planned alternative routes or systems to restore service
  • Design, implement and maintain cloud based solutions (private, public & hybrid)
  • Monitor and trigger quality of services
  • Be a active leading player in innovation programs and concepts
  • Manage the transition and transformation to Cloud infrastructure and services
  • Lead the migration to new systemand cloud platform technologies
  • Supervise a group of experts that manage all aspects of SES’s global IT systems topics, including system strategy, planning, and management, including but not limited to :
  • Plan and define the Information Systems resources
  • Monitor and improve the availability of all systems (geographical deployment, disaster recovery, etc.)
  • Virtualize and cloudify existing systems and services wherever possible
  • Provide 3rd level support for technical matters related to system and platform services
  • System infrastructure development
  • Ensure proper installation and maintenance of all SES computer hardware, software and database systems;
  • Ensure full adherence to existing policies (CoBIT, ITIL, ISO27001, Security and other IS related)
  • Maturity improvement and adherence of / to all IT service management processes, including change management
  • Provide leadership in coordinating, assessing, developing & communicating recovery environment requirements and contingency plans associated with the company’s Natural Business Units to protect the firm in the event that facilities or technology resources are unavailable due to an unforeseen disruption
  • Monitor and evaluate customer satisfaction with services delivered
  • Oversee external contracts for hardware and software service
  • Manage relationships with third party suppliers (application vendors, maintenance organizations, contractors, consultants, etc.
  • and outsourced services

  • Manage technical projects from conception to deployment
  • Manage complex Microsoft environment
  • Manage team knowledge and training development
  • Manage RFI & RFP process related to IS&S Infrastructure services
  • Maintain and enhance the global disaster recovery process and infrastructure
  • Work in a virtualized organization with international colleagues and end users
  • Maintain and define the client PC core load and maintain a common standard for the entirety of SES (shared task within the Digital Workplace Experience team)
  • Responsible to hand-over, ready-to-run, fully documented and accepted solutions to the IS&S OPS functions

  • Proven communications skills, both written and oral
  • Be able to understand technology, but also understand the business and what drives product / service delivery
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; Other languages being an asset

  • Self-motivated and able to deal well with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities
  • Experience in large-scale change management
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • International travel required
  • QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in developing / managing a systems team in a global environment
  • Advanced technical and process knowledge of all IS&S related topics
  • General knowledge about technical architecture and IS&S related concepts such as Cloud, systems, database, IP, etc
  • Experience in deploying industry process standards such as ITIL, COBIT, AGILE and ISO27001
  • Experience in supporting project management methodologies across a global IS organization
  • Experience in Cloud services, especially Microsoft Azure
  • AI OPS experience considered an advantage
  • Strong automation experience
  • Excellent Microsoft products and services knowledge
  • Excellent DevOps and IaC (Infrastructure as Code) knowledge
  • Proactive, autonomous, motivated and well organised
  • Financial knowledge to be able to manage budgets
  • Ability to analyse and solve complex IS&S related problems
  • Technical knowledge of the satellite business and its impact for IS&S and system measures
