This role is responsible to track and improve carriers performances for AGL cross border operations from / to EU by managing AGL-
selected Logistics Service Providers (LSP) that conduct ocean and air freight, as well as Express and parcel operation for FBA sellers and other Amazon subsidiaries.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Support relevant new lanes and new product launches by defining SLA / KPI with Carriers that add values to customers and / or Amazon.
Jointly design and implement optimal operation models for different customer segmentations (e.g., FBA, Retail, Devices, etc.
service level agreement (SLA), service models (fulfill to order vs. fulfill to stock), and Inco Terms. Seek synergies in these varieties for operational efficiency gain.
Ensure that carriers perform to agreed operating standards and that volume allocations to the carriers are managed accordingly.
Where carriers are not performing this is to be escalated within the AGL Procurement team to contractually engage.
Identify, implement and continuously improve logistic and operations metrics to detect & remove defects and improve the overall experience for our internal and external customers.
Define and own import / export operations KPI and metrics for the new reshaped EU flows (Ocean, Air freight, Small Parcels).
Proactively manage the in-scope OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) performance with scalable operational capability in place.
Drive the weekly / monthly / quarterly calls with Carriers and LSP in order to review their performances and own the corrective actions, wherever needed.
Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities for import operations via improved LSP efficiency and reduced ad hoc charges.
Support the development of SOPs, guidelines and new processes mapping.
Support procurement team’s sourcing of relevant LSPs.
Support market research, Request for Information, Request for Quotation process to source new carriers where the existing carrier pool is insufficient / poor performing.
Collaborate on new Project ensuring Amazon requirements are communicated & executed by Carriers and LSP.
Support the Operations Planning (OP) Process and goal settings.
Support in the annual volume forecast and peak plan based on carrier capacity, performances and capability issues ahead of the needs.
Drive LSPs’ service reliability and flexibility. Identify at-risk operations and develop / execute contingency protocol to minimize service failures.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, import / export management, trade compliance, logistics or similar field
Expert knowledge in major trade lanes and core cross-border ship modes (ocean, air, express parcel). Working knowledge of landside operations, customs regulation, tariffs, rates, and carrier management.
Proven track record to manage vendors and third party logistics providers to drive their performance.
Ability to deal with ambiguities, conflicting priorities and multi-cultural environment. Work under pressure and aggressive timelines.
Strong analytical thinking, data management, ability to convert strategy to operation, continuous improvement capability, project management skills, sensitivity to details, and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to peers and senior leadership teams.
Advanced degree (MBA, MS) in supply chain, import / export management, trade compliance, or similar field
2+ years of experiences with Amazon Operations, Supply chain, Transportation or Procurement
Multi-language skills is preferred (Chinese, German, Italian, Spanish, or French)
Previous managerial experience with proven positive influences and delivery of high quality results.
