Head of Regulatory Compliance / Head of Risk and Compliance - AIFM Man Co
This is a broad Compliance-style role which requires a strong regulatory understanding of the alternative investment business.
The person will be based in the Luxembourg office, and will have a strong understanding of the CSSF requirements, including key AIFM laws and relevant circulars such as 18 / 698.
As the business requires a strong understanding of the alternative investment market, it follows that the candidate will bring with them a developed understanding of both regulated funds, but also the way that regulation applies to the alternative investment industry.
As this is a fully authorised AIFM Man Co, the regulation needs to be carefully adapted to work for this particlar type of fund.
The right person could have 8-10+ years’ experience of having developed work-arounds and creative solutions to highly regulated funds, bringing methods that are proven to work with the interpretation of the CSSF regulations in environments that those funds were not originally built for, but in the context of an illiquid alternative fund.
The person has to be able to challenge the Members of the Board, so we need a certain character and seniority level. Although the relevant experience in regulatory compliance could be just 8-
10 years, the right candidate may well be a lot more senior than this, of 15, or even more years working experince, it really depends on the person.
asking the right questions at the right time of the senior management team. We are looking for a person with a high level of emotional intelligence to handle these conversations with tact.
Framework Design :
The right candidate will plan, implement and manage a Risk and Compliance framework that carefully protects the business and manages the regulatory and compliance exposure.
The role will primarily involve responsibility to ensure that both the risk management and compliance framework is effective, documented and meets the legal and regulatory provisions applicable to investment funds (AIFs) and to the AIFM in Luxembourg.
The person will regularly review the framework, and will stay abreast of regulatory need in Luxembourg.
There is strong progression opportunity available for the right person, as the firm is growing both globally and locally.
