The KYC Lawyer’s role is to organise and coordinate the opening of clients files with Partners and to carry out all the necessary and relevant checks according to the regulation.
KYC Updating the KYC / AML procedure and the internal manual Preparing and updating KYC forms & templates used with clients Collecting data for Identifying clients and / or economic beneficiaries (Engagement letters, UBO declaration, Charts, ID, ) with lawyers and assistants support Monitoring and analysis of client’s data collected Evaluating risks for each client with partners / associates concerned Setting up reporting dedicated to KYC- AML Committee for review, analysis and decision Updating client follow-up databases Monitoring and updating the database of existing customers regularly and reassessing risks Handling requests and carrying out a follow-up with the Luxembourg Bar Managing internal trainings Monitoring the change in directives and legislation in force Client management Preparing forms and procedures using the firm monitoring and updating software (Intapp Open) Review of forms used and engagement letters to open the matters in Intapp Open Training Assistants & lawyers on conflict checks process and provide support for conflict clearance once requested Recording client information in the Baker & McKenzie database and monitoring data throughout the business relationship (Intapp Open forms) Provide support to assistant and follow-up CMID questions Monitoring activations of matters with foreign offices and activation of foreign associates’ rights in Luxembourg (Intapp Open form) Preparing a management report for monitoring the opening of client accounts and matters Reviewing this management report on a monthly with the KYC-AML committee Knowledge and skills required Qualified Lawyer or Law master degree 5-10 years of experiences Command of written English Command of office tools Qualities required Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate, adaptable, excellent sense of organisation, methodical and diligent, ability to analyse and synthesise, team-oriented, ability to manage stress, flexible.
