Your field of responsibility

As part of our Depositary Bank team you will be responsible for the pre-onboarding, onboarding / launch and maintenance of our customers throughout the fund lifecycle.

This is a customer-facing role which will require involvement from the fund structuring phase onwards. In addition, you will monitor and support actions required throughout our sub-custodian network and work alongside RMs, fund structuring teams and other service partners.

You will have expertise in handling and analyzing large volumes of data, developing synergies across multiple sources and systems allied to an eye for detail.

You will have a good working knowledge of both traditional and alternative funds structures as well as a custodian bank.

In this role you will support the fund structuring team by responding to requests and producing feasibility studies for new business projects.

In order to fulfill this role effectively, you will be required to review fund documentation and interact directly with customers and a range of internal partners.

Once accepted, you will lead, when required, the onboarding of new customers or new projects from existing customers. This will involve analyzing and handling all critical customer data diligently and accurately in order to ensure the establishment of accounts and associated services at the level of the depositary bank and its service partners.

Once launched, you will take the lead in ensuring that the customer data is accurate and kept up-to-date. You will work with other customer-facing staff to handle any changes affecting the legal structure of the fund including any migrations, mergers acquisitions / liquidations.

You will monitor changes across the sub-custodian network that impact the operation of the fund and take action accordingly to ensure that all fund data is accurately maintained.

You will co-ordinate across the depositary bank and with all service partners pro-actively to ensure that fund structures are kept in good standing.

You will handle complex customer queries and lead remedial action plans when required. You will lead or contribute, where required, to the development of service level agreements and work with operational areas to enhance processes (and controls) to ensure that customer requirements can be met.

The role also includes active contribution to projects and initiatives that affect both the team and / or the department as well as identify and initiate product and service solutions that improve the operating environment.

Understanding the risks associated with a custody environment will contribute to your ability to support the maintenance of the team’s procedures and policies.

Your skills and experience

You demonstrate a strong expertise in both custody and the investment funds industry more broadly and you are used to senior management exposure in a fast moving banking environment.

More specifically you can evidence :

  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written - to liaise with a wide range of internal and external partners
  • Ability to handle large volumes of data with a high degree of competence and detail. A demonstrable understanding of systems, processes that support the maintenance and use of this data allied to the capability to troubleshoot
  • Good understanding of in- and ex-custody environments, securities services and connectivity channels (including market standards such as SWIFT)
  • Familiarity with key industry developments and the evolution of banking processes including digitisation
  • Client focused and service-oriented and ability to support RFPs
  • Good analytical and organizational skills allied with an eye for detail and enjoy working in a fast-paced complex environment
  • Ability to contribute to key projects, problem solving skills with a positive, empathetic personality and can-do attitude who shows flexibility and openness to changes with focus on improvement
  • Fluent in English; French and German are considered as an advantage
