Job description : Mission As part of its efforts to develop its business, the Pictet Group is seeking to hire a Private Equity / Debt & Real Estate Depositary Manager.

In this position, you will be the contact person of clients (either AIFMs or their delegated investment managers) for depositary operational matters.

You will be responsible for handling and monitoring all private equity / debt and real estate investment transactions made by Alternative Investment Funds, as well as for ensuring that all depositary duties are carried out and complied with.

As such, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate and broaden your knowledge of the private equity industry while benefiting from working for the Pictet Group.

  • Responsibilities On-boarding and client support : Help to organise and coordinate all depositary aspects within AIF’s onboarding process;
  • Take part in depositary feasibility / compliance assessments of new projects as an expert in the private equity / debt and real estate asset classes;
  • Liaise directly with internal and external clients for all operational matters relating to their investments, escalate unsolved issues internally to the dedicated acceptance committee and the Depositary Supervision team;
  • Work efficiently with all stakeholders.

    Investments supervision : Help and support teams to monitor transactions; Collect, keep track of and understand the investment / divestment documentation, acquire an in-

  • depth understanding of the investment structure and especially the transfer of ownership; Perform and document the look through analysis on direct investments characterised by a chain of ownership via intermediary structures up to the underlying assets;
  • Prepare record-keeping / payment instructions for the dedicated teams and undertake usual prior banking checks; Perform formal oversight of transaction bookings;
  • Supervise investments throughout their life cycle and ensure the proper processing of economic benefits of transactions flowing back to funds.

  • Controls framework : Help to design safekeeping procedures to be put in place with AIFMs (in accordance with depositary regulations);
  • Contribute to maintaining a sound / efficient control framework for fund transactions; Assess and review current processes and procedures, analyse and implement operational improvements and work on ISAE discussions;
  • Facilitate communication between various PE and RE teams; Perform due diligence on third parties involved in the safekeeping of assets (mainly the AIFM) along with the Depositary Supervision team.

  • Profile University degree in Finance, Economics, Law or Management; Four to six years’ experience in a similar position or in depositary operations;
  • Strong understanding of Luxembourg depositary / fund regulations and best practices; In-depth knowledge of alternative products / strategies, in particular private equity / debt and real estate investments;
  • Fluent in English and French; command of another EU language would be an asset; Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with both peers and external stakeholders including clients and regulators;
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently; Organised and precise in all aspects of your work; Flexibile, able to adapt to and manage the unexpected;
  • IT skills : Proficient user of the standard MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); eFront and / or Avaloq skills would be considered as an asset.
