Job Description

As an Operations Governance & Oversight Manager (Senior Associate), you will be responsible for managing the governance and oversight over Custody, Collateral and Securities Lending on behalf of JPMBL.

Key Responsibilities :

  • The main activities of the position consist of ensuring high quality and timely processing of Custody and Trading Operations oversight related activities.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed to the required standard agreed within the Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.
  • Act as first level of interrogation and identification of issues which require escalation to management and follow up preventative actions with stakeholders.
  • Be a primary point of contact between JPMBL and JPM service providers as well as operations teams offshore.
  • Ensure effective monitoring and reporting of outstanding items.
  • Be comfortable to engage with stakeholders of various seniority level and challenge when required.
  • Chair team meeting and monthly governance calls with local and external delegates.
  • Preparation of monthly and ad hoc senior management reporting.
  • Representation in senior management forums.
  • Effectively handle people management responsibilities.
  • Pro-actively contribute to the enhancement of BAU oversight processes.
  • Act as the active support for global projects with a focus on operation readiness and efficiency improvements.
  • Mitigate financial / reputational risk by ensuring appropriate controls and procedures are adhered to in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Ensure robust design and continuous review and enhancement of the operational governance framework to meet the changing product as well as to meet regulatory demands and changes, particularly within local branch jurisdictions.
  • Review of escalation items and other business escalated items / metrics / KPIs / KRIs, management of SLA with different service providers, as well as ensuring adequate contingency planning and testing are in place and appropriate for the entity.
  • Perform due diligence and on-going assessment of outsourced functions.
  • Skills, Qualifications & Experience :

  • Fluent English language skills, fluency in other languages is a plus.
  • Ideally educated to a bachelor degree level or equivalent in a related subject.
  • Experience of working within large organisation, preferably within the financial industry (8-9 years as a minimum).
  • Strong knowledge of Luxembourg and European regulatory requirements.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and working experience in Securities Services businesses, especially Custody, Collateral Services and Agency Securities Lending.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills required to provide status to key audience in a concise, informative and timely manner.
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment with control focus and attention to details.
  • Capacity to lead with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • Ability to work in an navigate an international matrix organization.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills; flexibility, ability to prioritise requests and multi-task in the face of ever-changing and sometimes conflicting demands.
  • Strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills; team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
