Senior Accountant MUR155 Greenfield is pleased to be working with a Real Estate investment trust based in Luxembourg city center.
In order to support their local teams, they are looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to be responsible for various accounting duties for European operations in accordance with the appropriate GAAP.
This includes accounting for Luxembourg, UK and other legal entities owning real estate directly (and through joint ventures) and working within a team of accountants to help ensure that the accounting is done timely and accurately.
He or she will also be responsible for recording journal entries, assisting with annual accounts, VAT returns, etc. related to each legal entity when required.
The person will be working with tight deadlines in order to deliver the trial balances to the US accounting team. This job will also back up the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash functions.

party interest accruals, and other journal entries, and prepare monthly reconciliations Review leases, loan documents, and other legal documents to determine proper accounting treatment under the appropriate GAAP Identify need for new property and account set up in the accounting system Assist in making sure that all invoices are recorded within Yardi accounting system and cash disbursements are processed in the online banking system Assist with creation of invoices for receivables, including rent invoices and other billings, and record all cash receipts within the accounting system Monitor bank accounts on a daily basis to ensure cash is being managed properly Potentially maintain Fixed Asset System and update for any additions, purchase price allocation updates, etc Follow existing accounting policies and control framework as outlined in their existing corporate Sox documentation Identify all accounting needs for the Luxembourg entities including payment of invoices and journal entries needed to ensure that the financial statements are in accordance with the appropriate GAAP Work closely with the Tax Director and with U.
S. International team to ensure that all tax tasks and all monthly reporting deadlines are met Ensure that all necessary journal entries have been recorded and accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and Follow monthly and quarterly checklists Your Profile : Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance (or equivalent in Europe) CPA / Chartered Accountant designation preferred Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience Extensive knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP and additional knowledge of other GAAPs (including UK GAAP or IFRS) preferred Ability to work with a team, manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with all levels in the organization Strong analytical, written communication and interpersonal skills Near native level of English and ability to speak multiple languages preferred If you are interested in this position or would like to discuss other roles that we are currently recruiting for, please forward your CV in English to Muriel Newton by applying online.
