As part of its development, we are looking for a :

German-Speaking Credit Specialist (M / F)

Your mission :

Credit specialists are key stakeholders of BEL Banque des Entreprises au Luxembourg , on whom the Bank can rely for their expertise and objectivity in corporate and SME financing, (re)structuring and analysis combining a risk awareness with a commercial approach.

Your main mission is to limit the bank’s open risk by contributing to the early detection of any early warning signals and by implementing appropriate action plans with the clients in order to proactively manage and preserve the value of any stressed assets and exposures.

This is achieved by an optimization of the credit relationship with the customer and, if necessary, via credit restructuring.

The future candidate will manage a portfolio of loan clients as part of the special loan support. This function covers tasks with a high degree of responsibility / a certain risk and deals with complex cases presenting a critical risk profile.

The credit specialists are also involved in structuring credit transaction with the RMs (Relationship Manager) and the clients and providing a critical contribution to inform credit decisions in credit committees.

Main tasks :

Work closely with RMs, Legal Affairs and Risk in order to define and implement the appropriate strategy

Establishing, coordinating and implementing restructuring strategies with the view to optimize recoveries

Respond to unforeseen events and react accordingly

Estimate the financial and reputational risks associated with the files processed

Keep the required data in the bank systems up to date

Estimate / set the degree of urgency of processing a specific case and set a priority in processing

Representing the bank in client and bank group meetings

Decide on warranty renewals

Estimate the value of guarantees and analyze the valuation of the company

Participate in diverse project achievements

Structuring term sheets (Facility, borrower, guarantor, lender, amount, maturity, pricing, financial covenants, security ) with the RMs, the client and the Legal

Delivering a complete, synthetic and coherent up-to-date memo on the transaction, based on facts, compliant with bank’s guidelines with the RMs and other parties involved.

Advantages of the position :

Gaining solid skills in credit structuring & restructuring and learning about different methods of financing companies

Cash flow Liquidity analysis and legal knowledge to master the contractual aspect as well as the generalconditions of different types of loans and collateral clients

Experience in negotiations with clients or other stakeholders

Working on a mix of plain vanilla and complex credit files for European and international clients operating in various industries and from various size : start-up to large corporates

Working environment :

You will join a dynamic department of 150 employees allowing you to interact with different types of customers in the business sector.

Your profile : Education :

Education :

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Finance / Economics or confirmed experience in the banking sector

Professional Experience :

You’ve had a similar professional experience of minimum 3-5 years

Critical thinking

Effective writing skills

Technical Skills :

Good knowledge of Suite Office

Language Skills :

You are fluent in German, French and English. Any other language will be an advantage

During the finalization of the recruitment process, the preselected candidate will be asked to provide us an extract from his / her criminal record dated less than 3 months (record N 3 for Luxembourg), according to the dispositions of the law from July 23 2016 concerning the criminal record.
