Deputy Chief Compliance Officer
At Airbnb, the Payments Compliance Team maintains a global regulatory compliance program that supports 191 countries, 70 currencies, connects dozens of payment providers and banks, and processes multiple billions of dollars.
The Compliance team is tasked with protecting the payments that run through our payments infrastructure by building controls into our products, ensuring we know our customers, investigating unusual activities, filing regulatory reports with relevant regulatory agencies and carrying out economic sanctions screening.
In this role you would ensure that day-to-day compliance operational activities are appropriate for the business, maintained to the department’s high internal standards, and will interact with our regulatory agencies and other key partners.
The Airbnb Compliance team is building a scalable Compliance foundation to support regulatory compliance on a global scale.
The team helps the company grow by ensuring that the payments product can continue to grow in a safe and compliant fashion.

The Deputy Chief Compliance Officer will help us continue to build and strengthen our payments compliance program for Airbnb Payments Luxembourg.
Reporting into the Chief Compliance Officer in Luxembourg and in collaboration with Compliance leadership, as well as global functional work streams.
A key responsibility of this role is to be the AML / KYC SME. You will support all aspects of the implementation and maintenance of the Payments compliance programme, ensuring we’re up to date and compliant with all requirements so that we are able to protect and grow our community with best in class payments whilst minimising regulatory risk.
The role will act as the CCO’s delegate for approving high risk clients, PEP approval and internal escalations for EU / UK compliance operations.
Acting as support (and alternative) point of contact for relationships with regulators, including CSSF, FIU and FCA. Providing support and point of contact for internal and quality assurance audits.
You’ll work with a cross functional team of engineers, data scientists, compliance operations, and legal to jointly develop our compliance program, to ensure the safety of the payments that flow through Airbnb.
