Our Luxembourg internal compliance team is in charge of ensuring that our group policies and procedures are kept up to date and reflect local Luxembourg law requirements.
It works hand in hand with our legal practice groups and other support departments to address compliance issues and implement internal processes.
It also collaborates with our UK-based global teams in charge of the on-boarding of new clients and of data privacy matters.
The compliance officer ensures that the firm complies with internal policies and procedures and meets applicable laws and regulations, including without limitation the AML-CTF legislation and GDPR.
The compliance officer will work under the supervision of the firm’s regulatory and compliance in-house lawyer.
Role and responsibilities
The compliance officer will assist with the implementation of enhancements and changes to our internal processes in respect of matter opening, AML-CTF and data retention compliance.
He / she will therefore assist with the implementation of our :
Data retention policy : monitor the regular closure of files and assist with the deletion of data as per the data retention policy.
More generally, he / she will work closely with legal teams to ensure compliance with the firm’s policies and procedures in the areas of matter opening, AML-CTF and ensure that the process is as efficient and streamlined as possible, whilst remaining thorough and rigorous.
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Law or Finance or Business Administration.
2-4 years of relevant experience, ideally in the legal / professional services sector.
Knowledge of regulatory practices (including in particular AML-CTF and GDPR).
Ability to quickly assimilate internal processes.
Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
Professional working proficiency in English and French (oral and written).
Strong attention to detail and committed to quality and professionalism.
Self-confident and proactive in taking the lead on projects, following-up as necessary and interacting with relevant stakeholders.
Team player, open-minded.
Ability to set priorities, keep track of workflows and work with tight deadlines.
