Your Role...

The successful applicant is expected to perform original research in the area of advanced computational solid / structural mechanics with applications in civil and / or mechanical engineering and to contribute to associated teaching activities in the department’s master and doctoral programmes.

You will be working in the research team led by Prof. Andreas Zilian <

Your tasks

  • Manage and drive forward your research project
  • Disseminate results (journal articles, conferences)
  • Contribute to engineering teaching and training
  • What we expect from you

  • PhD in Computational Mechanics / Civil Engineering
  • Expertise in mathematical modelling of civil engineering structures & associated finite element techniques
  • Fluent with computational workflows (Python, HPC)
  • Experience with the open-source platform FEniCS<
  • Very good command of English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
