Finance Controller - MUR146
Greenfield is pleased to be working closely with a leading global fixed income asset manager headquartered in London. They are currently seeking a Finance Controller to report into the Head of Finance, to join the Finance department who performs a key function to support the business and maintain a strong control & governance framework.
The team is directly responsible for overseeing the records maintained by the external administrator, verifying fee calculations and the expense payment process.
The Finance Controller will perform the periodic controls over the delegates in relation to the Fund’s accounting as well as the corporate accounting.
This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic, expanding team and group. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Finance Luxembourg and the Accountant as well as the other company’s departments (Risk, compliance functions, distribution etc) and will develop a complete understanding of the management company structure.
The role will focus on the Funds and Corporate Accounting concepts.
The Role :
Perform the periodic controls over the delegates which include but not limited to the preparation and / or review of :
o Funds’ expenses calculation and booking (ie. Management fees, performance fees, director fees etc);
o Dividend distribution to the shareholders;
o Fund’s income calculation and booking;
o Contribute to the Funds’ valuation oversight (includes the review of the illiquid assets);
o Funds and Corporate invoices controls;
o The monthly company’s financial report;
Support the Finance team in the Funds and management company’s year-end audit;
Contribute to the maintenance, the development and the automation of the current control framework;
Support the Finance team in the day to day tasks and ad-hoc analysis (such as products profitability, Funds and company cost monitoring).
Your Profile :
Capacity to resolve issues and managing any issues that may arise;
Pro-active and capacity to work autonomously;
Bac+5 in Engineering, Finance or Accountancy;
Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access);
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English (other languages such as German or Italian are a plus but not mandatory);
Intellectually curious and eager to learn in a changing and fast-growing environment;
Strong analytical capability, both quantitative and qualitative;
Very good understanding of VBA, SQL, Python or another IT language;
Previous experience in Lux GAAP or IFRS;
Knowledge of the Luxembourg Asset Management industry;
Big 4 experience is a plus;
Comprehensive knowledge of financial products and derivatives traded.
