Project Manager ispace Europe is seeking a highly motivated and talented Project Manager to join the team and lead the company's lunar exploration projects.
The vision of ispace is to expand and sustain humanity’s presence in space by developing a lunar economy built on the resources available on the Moon.
ispace Europe is the company’s regional office located in Luxembourg, in the heart of Europe. We are creating the first lunar resource exploration service by developing ispace’s next generation rover that will prospect for lunar water and other resources.
We are a small team, motivated by the challenges of the Lunar Frontier, and determined to achieve the company’s vision.As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, the Project Manager will be responsible for project life cycle planning and execution of technology development projects at ispace Europe.
The position requires an enthusiastic and dedicated candidate able to manage projects across multiple engineering disciplines and striving to drive innovation by applying state of the art technologies and new management methods.
Translate objectives and risk posture into a project implementation plan with associated budget, schedule, and risk management
Be adept at defining and managing to a plan, comfortable adjusting it in response to evolving requirements or external constraints, and prioritizing efforts
Manage and organize multiple parallel projects and priorities; work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment
Promote the utilization of project management best practices across projects to include project performance tracking, communications, quality, and risk assessment strategies
Manage relations and contracts with customers, vendors, manufacturers, and subcontractors
Communicate with the project team to ensure alignment on schedule, tasks and deliverables
Foster a collaborative environment
Proactively resolve issues and drive course corrections as needed - be directly involved in helping teams foresee and overcome obstacles
Identify and act on opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
5+ years of engineering development or test experience
5+ years of project management experience
Demonstrated experience leading and coaching engineering team members : assigning and evaluating work, providing feedback, and balancing resources across multiple projects
Proven track record of successfully managing complex technical developments
Ability to understand complex technical systems and programs
Ability to analyze and distill relevant data and prepare presentations for key stakeholders
Ability to develop team members and increase their drive, enthusiasm, initiative, efficiency and effectiveness
Thrive in multi-disciplinary environment in close cooperation with engineering and business teams
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Proactive and can-do attitude, striving for continuous improvement, effectiveness, and efficiency
Comfortable with change and fast-paced environment
English fluency required
Experience with space flight hardware
Knowledge of systems engineering practices, fabrication, integration processes, quality and configuration management systems
Experience with successfully engaging and collaborating with distributed teams
