    Job Description

    We are seeking a seasoned business analyst to join our EU Transportation Procurement team.

    Transportation Procurement at Amazon Europe is all about creating and adding value through great category management, leadership, sourcing activities and supplier management.

    Our team looks after suppliers across a full range of transportation sub-categories - including postal services, express deliveries and 3PL (FTL, LTL, Groupage).

    2020 will be an exciting year for us with new team members, a refreshed strategy and functional development plan and some big opportunities to make a significant contribution to the success of our business.

    Purpose of Job

  • A core member of the transportation procurement management team with responsibility to drive development and roll-out of best practices.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, eager to develop pragmatic approaches / solutions and to develop a top-notch analytics team.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis for major carriers.
  • Support negotiation preparation with relevant analyses.
  • Develop automated standard reports of all Transportation Procurement KPIs, incl. Carrier Scorecards.
  • Provide ad-hoc analyses for negotiations as well as for the development of carrier- and market-strategies.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and high ability for data mining.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office / PC skills, including strong working knowledge of Excel and VBA.
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or other business / analytical disciplines.
  • Good team player and the ability to work with a wide cross-section of people in various locations.
  • Creative and ideas-driven in finding new solutions / designing innovative methods, systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of European parcel delivery industry.
  • Experience in cost analysis / cost modelling.
