To support the Finance team in Luxembourg, Robert Half is looking for a Financial Controller (m / f / x). The ideal candidate is key in the continuity and growth of our business.
The role is based in our downtown office in Luxembourg. Our client is a Bermuda based Reinsurer and Consolidator with a proven track-record of successfully acquiring and operating portfolios or direct insurers in Europe, primarily those in run-off.
The firms focuses on annuity, guaranteed savings or protection product lines.. Since its creation in 2000, the group has continued to grow and has offices in multiple countries today : Bermuda, Ireland, Belgium, Netherland, Luxembourg and Guernsey and employs around 200 people.
As a Financial Controller, the person in charge will directly report to the Deputy CEO and will undertake the following responsibilities : Prepare quarterly and annual financial closing (LUX GAAP);
Manage the investment framework including evaluation process and completeness of investments; Investments limits monitoring;
Regulatory financial reporting; Group reporting on investments; Participate in ad hoc projects to continually improve and simplify Finance processes and systems;
Effective management of risks and controls in the Finance / investments area; Key player in the transition to a new General Ledger System on Group level;
Support the Finance function in integration projects and acquisitions. Bachelor degree (preferably in Finance); Good knowledge of Life Insurance accounting, investment and fund administration is a Must;
Experience in regulatory reporting SII; Experience in budgeting; Awareness of control environments within financial systems, ability to identify weaknesses and conduct risk assessments;
Able to handle a fluctuating workload and multiple priorities combining day-to-day operations and Projects; Knowledge of MS Dynamics is nice to have;
