The Robotics Operational Readiness team are seeking an experienced and business oriented Snr Technical Vendor Manager as our EU Robotics technology portfolio grows.

Successful candidates will have strong level of ownership and be highly motivated individuals who have wide Engineering Program and Project Management experience.

The Technical Vendor Manager will have high work capacity, bias for action, proven experience in Project and Program Management and a passion to build capability and relationships, both external and internal, with robust work processes / mechanisms.

This individual will be responsible for leading a team of TVM's to define a work stream within ROR that will develop a relationship with our Robotic Vendors and become a central POC of technology deployment planning / execution with the objective to accelerate our end-to-end project timing while maintaining continuous improvement.

This individual needs to be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment to build definition for this emerging team, determining KPI's and working methodology to improve efficiency for deployment within the Robotics Deployment Engineering Organization

Key job responsibilities

Lead a team of TVM's to overall end-to-end technical vendor management to deliver large scale projects.

Works with external and internal vendors to secure project delivery.

Evaluate and simplify current working procedures and improve organization team structure.

Coordinate / Communicate with the Robotics Deployment Engineering on resourcing, site availability against deployment planning schedule

Deep dive on technical details and lead problem resolution on a need basis.

Lead critical path from the vendor point of view. E.g. supply chain or project management constraints.

Be a business partner with the Procurement and Engineering team, drive execution of commercial and technical deliverables.

Assist in providing equipment projections to procurement and partner for best value and competition.

Coordinate information between various teams in the organization and drive consolidation of feedback to ensure a common approach to TVM.

Capture real time feedback from deployment Project Mangers on performance issues that need escalation

Drive CI with vendors to ensure year on year vendor performance improvement

Consolidate granular information from the TVM team to drive strategic planning for future deployment seasons

About the team

Robotics Operational Readiness Team are a support function to the Robotics Deployment Engineering Team responsible for deployment of Amazon Robotic and Advanced Technologies across the EU Network.

ROR focus on delivering definition to deployment packages which RDE Project Managers can utilise to improve deployment efficiency.

The Snr TVM role will follow this ethos, leading a team to improve deployment efficiency by filtering communication with our Robotic Vendors and driving improved planning and performance across the Robotic Vendor portfolio.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any discipline), and relevant experience in project / program management.
  • Experience working with the designs of complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, or systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.
  • Experience with process design based on Lean principles.
  • Proficiency using business / technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and AutoCAD software.

  • Advanced degree in Engineering (any discipline), Math or Physical Science and progressively responsible experience in either design engineering, deployment or program management field.
  • Capital project management skills.
  • Recognized Project Management Certification (PMP / Prince2)
  • Design-in-Safety experience
  • Proficiency with concepts such as system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making.
  • Ability to operate with autonomy with little oversight or direction
  • Ability to travel (up to 30%) to support Amazon’s network locations based primarily within Europe
  • Experience managing a team of highly motivated individuals
