Join our exciting world of Consumables Private Brands in the EU, where we are launching our own line of brands across all Consumables categories (Food & Beverages, Health, Personal Care, Beauty, Household Consumables, Pets, Sport Nutrition, Personal Care Appliances).

We’re looking for a highly motivated, customer-obsessed, results driven and analytical Senior Category Manager - Food & Beverages, who will own product development, sourcing, ongoing category management and the P&L for the Grocery categories in scope.

The geographic scope of the role is Pan-EU, and the candidate will work closely with the EU PB leadership, EU category teams and global Private Brands teams in the US, Japan and India.

The position is based in Luxembourg at the Amazon EU HQ.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Increasing selection by identifying new product development opportunities
  • Working autonomously to onboard relevant Food & Beverages selection across the EU
  • Negotiating with and onboarding vendors to add selection in line with our tenets, and managing vendor relationships on an ongoing basis
  • Managing categories and products, by delivering top and bottom line growth for categories in scope
  • Creating a data driven long term roadmap for each category
  • Analyzing key P&L metrics, and recommending and implementing actions to improve product performance
  • Managing the end-to-end product lifecycle
  • Improving customer experience, by developing actionable insights based on customer feedback, and developing creative strategies to increase outreach of products
  • Managing and influencing key stakeholders, including the commercialization team, instock management, marketing and business intelligence, finance, legal, product compliance
  • University degree, preferably in a technical, business or analytical discipline
  • 6+ years of experience in an online, retail, e-commerce or consulting environment
  • Proven analytical, project management and organizational skills, managing and executing large projects from start to finish
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to influence teams and deliver through others
  • Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, proficiency in Excel
  • Fluency in English and an additional European language
  • Previous experience with a Private Brands retailer / company
  • MBA from leading business school
  • Ability to write SQL queries
