The Ground Operations Team EU is seeking a highly skilled and motivated person to deliver robust transportation capabilities through our air operations, positively supporting customer satisfaction.

This position leads, coordinates and facilitates a structured process approach looking for the continuous improvement at the Air Gateways in Europe, reporting to the Ground Operations Manager and working closely with fulfillment centers, sort centers, line haul and third party vendors.

The main objective for the Process Improvement Program Manager is to find the simplest and best ways to operate at the European airports maximizing performance.

The person leading this role needs to be innovative, have the ability to think big and have strong communication skills.

Deliver and drive effective solutions to complex challenges; provide team and business partners with necessary tools, resources and training to meet or exceed all operational performance goals and improve operational metrics are also a requirement of the role, as well as the ability to re-engineer processes.

Main responsibilities of this role

  • Drive implementation of LEAN standard work creating the right processes, principles and policies to manage our Air Gateways
  • Train, implement and reinforce Kaizen / PDCA (plan-do-check-act) methods at the airports operations that are handled by third party vendors
  • Standardize processes, actively share best practices and ensure ongoing communication with Gateways Process Owners
  • Process re-engineering from operations at the airport looking for the best balance between speed, quality and cost
  • Act as liaison between operations and third party vendors helping to leverage the process excellence
  • Partnering with internal business units to effectively manage refinement of the network
  • Communicating effectively with both external and internal customers
  • Master of Science in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Logistics or similar fields
  • Experience in a planning & engineering leadership role in transportation / logistic
  • Experience working in operations (or equivalent Military experience)
  • Demonstrate a strong track record of team leadership within a large-scale, rapid and process-driven environment
  • Very strong analytical skill capability, being able to translate operational issues into workable solutions
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and its practical usage to solve problems and optimize processes
  • Wide range of method skills and practical experience, especially on continuous improvement and change management
