Job based in Luxembourg Amazon is seeking an experienced and detail oriented Sr. Engineering Program Manager to support project planning and execution for the Worldwide Design organization and Amazon’s growing building network.
The primary role of this individual in this Project Management team is to drive special projects to completion keeping them on schedule.
Successful candidates will be natural self-starters with engineering project management experience working with each phase of the project life cycle including requirements, design, planning, execution, and hand off.
This individual will work with our internal team members to validate project requests, work with stakeholders to establish and coordinate project plans and milestone schedules, work with field teams to obtain actual data and verify needs, kick off meetings and any project phasing, and work on mitigating any project risks.
This individual needs experience in leading meetings with a variety of technical and non-technical teams, managing and maintaining project trackers and provide weekly status updates to leadership teams and all the working teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : # Scope, validate, and establish project initiatives and plans that solve group or stakeholder challenges that have been prioritized to be solved.
Execute individual and team projects, anticipating project risks with mitigation plans. # Facilitate / run weekly alignment meetings on network projects as well as program specific updates # Escalate milestone level project issues that are impacting project schedules # Initiate / facilitate major project kick-offs and drive execution until completion and handoff.
Drive / follow up on project line item and milestone level delays # Inputs and coordination with Real Estate construction, Robotics, and Material Handling vendors on First Access details # Prepare and (at times) report out regular project updates to Senior Leadership.
Innovate and drive better Project Management tools, systems, and processes. # Ability to travel up to 25% BASIC QUALIFICATIONS # Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business # Experience leading projects and interacting with cross-functional teams # 5-7 years of experience in complex project management and implementation with proven ability to design workable solutions and drive projects to successful implementation # Experience leading large scale projects and programs # Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment # Superior communication skills including proven ability to effectively manage, influence, negotiate, and communicate with external business partners and internal teams # Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office including Project and Excel PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS # MBA or Master’s Degree or other advanced degree in Engineering or related field # Fulfillment / Distribution design, planning, execution experience # PMP certification Amazon.
