The opportunity :
We are looking for Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to join the Tire & Performance Science team to support tire development and vehicle manufacturers through vehicle dynamics investigations and further development of virtual tire development capabilities.
On this position You will :
Support Product Development programs through assessment / benchmarking of the performance of tire / vehicle systems through modeling, testing and simulation.
Support Technology Development programs through development of new tire / vehicle test and simulation capabilities, enhancement of our predictive technologies using the latest data analysis tools in conjunction with up-to-date data science methods.
Further develop the creativity and innovation capacity of the team with a focus on virtual tire development.
Cooperate with vehicle OEM’s, external companies and universities to shape our virtual tire / vehicle development process for efficiency, quality and robustness.
Cooperate with tire design team and provide recommendations for tire design tuning to meet tire / vehicle performance objectives.
To join our team you will need :
Education :
You must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Control Theory, preferably in Automotive field.
A PhD is considered as an asset.
Languages :
Fluency in English and German is a must.
Experience :
5 years of professional experience inside automotive industry (e.g. at a vehicle OEM) or academia for vehicle dynamics.
Experience with : numerical methods, data acquisition / analysis software, instrumentation and sensor installation is an asset.
Practical experience with : vehicle modeling and vehicle dynamics simulation software (e.g. CarMaker, VI-Grade, CarSim), tire modeling and force & moment prediction software (e.
g. MF-Tire, CD-Tire, F-Tire), assessment / benchmarking of performance of tire and vehicle systems.
Preferred :
Experience with driving simulator (e.g. Vi-Grade, MTS, static or dynamic)
Experience with chassis and / or steering system development
Experience with tire testing and prototype tire evaluation
Skills & Qualifications :
Strong background in vehicle dynamics or related area.
Knowledge of data acquisition and processing software, MATLAB.
Knowledge of functional system development approach (V-model).
Team player with enthusiasm and initiative.
