Platform Product Group
The Platform Product Group provides a centre of excellence for the management and development of products and services for both the Cross Border and UK distribution channels.
The Pension Product Team is responsible for developing brand new retirement products and services, as well as developing and maintaining market leading, competitive, compliant and efficient products.
The team is responsible for analysing changes in legislation, technology, demographics and customer behaviour to identify opportunities to enhance the existing product set and create brand new products and services.
We drive change to ensure Fidelity is the first choice for customers, employers and advisers when considering where to invest their or their clients’ / employees’ money, managing the business product strategy for workplace DC pensions.
The team is the key interface between the distribution channels and the operation and technology teams to ensure that all change is co-ordinated to deliver maximum return for our investment, compliant products and that we build solutions once and that they are scalable & efficient.
This is a new role being created in the Pension Product Team to assist in the product management of the two products currently offered through the Cross-border WI business, the Fidelity European Pension Plan, a Pan European IORP and the International Retirement Savings Plan.
You will support the Cross Border Product Lead and will take ownership of initiatives ensuring that we meet our commitments to the Cross Border WI business and our customers.
You will be expected to maintain and develop a deep understanding of our products and how they are differentiated from those of our competitors and use this knowledge to help deliver business advantage for Fidelity.
You will be involved in supporting the compliant delivery in Europe of pan-European retirement and financial wellness services and products.
You will also support Fidelity’s pension and retirement policy and thought leadership.
Understanding the competitive and regulatory landscape
Form a good understanding of competitor products identifying points of differentiation with Fidelity
Keep abreast of regulatory change that affects your products through both individual technical analysis and building an effective network of European and local market expert contacts
Ensure we interpret correctly the application of regulations to our products, providing both direct input into Fidelity owned applications and oversight of Fidelity’s outsourced service partners
Provide competitive insight to the sales and marketing teams to help them differentiate Fidelity in the marketplace and so better achieve their business goals
Effectively interfacing between the channels and the functional departments
Work with the local and global business channels to understand customer requirements as they relate to the products you are responsible for, ensuring these are carried through to development
Liaise with global stakeholders to reflect Cross Border WI requirements and define localisation requirements for global content and ensure new global initiatives align with the local proposition and product offering
Equally, work with the functional teams in Fidelity and Fidelity’s outsourced service partners to understand their requirements and factor these into current and future development
Act as the go to person for the business in relation to your product set answering questions and providing product expertise as required
Developing and maintaining market leading, competitive and compliant products and services :
Keep abreast of other work in the Product Group and functional teams to understand pain points and potential areas for change
Act as product owner on change projects ensuring all participants have a clear understanding of business requirements and making decisions quickly and effectively to ensure the pace of development is maintained and that change is developed on time, on scope and within budget
Maintain a culture of continuous improvement by constantly evaluating the products against customer needs to ensure we maintain a market leading position
Ensure the products meet with all current and proposed regulatory requirements, supporting the development of changes to ensure ongoing compliance
Ensure that product specifications and internal product materials are kept up-to-date and reflect the local market
Support in representing the product internally & externally to Fidelity :
Maintain and develop your technical knowledge of pensions and retirement to ensure you stay abreast of our ever changing environment
Build an effective network of technical experts both at a European and local market level
Represent Fidelity externally through participation in industry bodies and supporting channel functions with client meetings
Support public policy and government liaison through defining and articulating Fidelity’s view point on legislative direction and responding to formal consultations
Experience and Qualifications Required
Experienced pensions professional with previous financial services industry experience. Ideally this will be in Workplace pensions, but other types of financial experience will be considered.
Detailed technical knowledge of workplace pensions and a good knowledge of European workplace pensions and markets would be desirable, in particular experience of the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy.
Previous experience or an understanding of pan-European pension and retirement provision would be beneficial
Core understanding of the legal and regulatory environment in which our business operates and how this is changing
Strong knowledge of retirement products and services and a demonstrable understanding of current trends
Experience of delivering pension change either through product development, consulting or operational change management
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels in the organisation
Ability to build a strong network of industry contacts
Attention to detail and an ability to complete fully on deliverables
Strong sense of personal ownership and responsibility
Proven ability to work within a team and to influence others to get the job done
Fluent English speaker and ideally a working knowledge of Dutch or French.
Strong stakeholder management skills
Strong interpersonal skills and good presentation skills
A well-organised and structured approach to all aspects of work
An open-minded, can-do attitude and willingness to be flexible, as befits a small team
Pensions / financial planning qualifications are desirable (CII, PMI, IIPM, LIA or alternative)
Location is flexible and depends on the candidate - Luxembourg and Dublin are preferred locations
