Amazon is hiring an experienced, innovative, passionate and customer-obsessed Software Development Engineer for the Sort Center HR Technology Integration team.

You will create the next generation of Sort Center technology using the latest and best-in class technologies. You will have a chance to drive solutions from conceptualization to rollout across the vast network of buildings in the EU.

Responsibilities include : Identifying problem areas where technology can be used as an enabler for change · Using industry best practices and design principles to architect and design stable, customer-centric solutions Defining the scope of software solutions and working with operations leaders and teams to create innovative products Thinking long-term to create products and tools of the future that can scale with a large number of buildings and users Insisting on high standards in design, development and deployment BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
2-4 years professional experience in software development Experience in designing and developing large-scale, distributed software applications, tools, systems and services using Ruby with MYSQL.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS) Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to internal or external customers.
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing and operations.
Understanding of logistics operations, including air, ground and package sortation processes.
