Your Role

  • Recruitment and psychophysiological assessment of healthy participants and participants with somatic symptoms using laboratory-based paradigms, psychophysiological (e.
  • g., EEG, ECG, EMG, blood pressure) and psychoendocrinological methods (salivary cortisol, alpha-amylase)

  • Development and application of a brain stimulation protocol using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)
  • Support of the principal investigator, Assistant Prof. Dr. André Schulz, in the administration and management of the project
  • Writing a doctoral thesis in Biological, Clinical and Health Psychology based on original manuscripts published in high quality, peer-reviewed journals
  • Your Profile

    The candidate should have experience in or at least be interested in several of the following areas :

  • transcranial magnetic stimulation (mandatory)
  • stress, interoception and somatic symptoms
  • psychophysiological methods (EEG / ERP, cardiovascular methods).
  • psychoendocrinological methods (e.g., cortisol, alpha-amylase)
  • theories, models and current international research in Biological, Clinical and Health Psychology, and their overlapping concepts
  • The candidate has to integrate into a multilingual research team. She / he must, therefore, have excellent command of the following languages (written and spoken) : English (communication within the research group, dissemination), German and / or French (optional).

    The ability to work as part of a team is essential.
