The successful candidate will strategically source products and services for the European Amazon Air’s network. They will interact with our most important suppliers to satisfy organizational requirements.

They will coordinate with several teams across Amazon Air to develop and execute category-sourcing strategies, deliver savings and improve productivity across the category.

Reporting to the head of global fleet management and services, based in Seattle, the ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to work in full autonomy, and a creative, critical thinker with an intense motivation to learn.

This person will manage multiple negotiations concurrently and will significantly contribute to the overall strategy of Amazon Air.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop multi-year strategic plans for category spend management and supplier base development that provides Amazon a competitive advantage.
  • Drive annual plans and activities that meets the company’s financial objectives.
  • Lead major procurement projects on a global basis.
  • Work in close cooperation with the regional procurement teams in NA and EU.
  • Implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimize costs and ensure continuity of supply, ensuring cost efficient supply of business critical items.
  • Develop and drive integrated category supply chain processes that ensure continuous improvements in supplier quality, delivery and cost performance.
  • Lead key negotiations, implement improved processes and incorporate value engineering activities to achieve cost reduction goals.
  • Develop and utilize improved metrics and data driving decision making capabilities.
  • Improve overall organizational capability through systems, processes and talent development.
  • Develop and implement integrated supply chain processes that effectively support Amazon’s growing and dynamic business model.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

  • Bachelors Degree in business management, procurement, finance or in an aviation related topics;
  • 10+ years of professional experience in supply chain, transportation or procurement;
  • Proven experience of global procurement including category management, large project negotiations and contract management of $100MM+ in annual spend (opex and capex);
  • Experience in leading highly technical projects;
  • Track records of managing large cross-functional programs;
  • Experience leading the implementation of new processes, systems and decision making tools in a procurement or supply chain organization;
  • Strong data analysis and analytical decision-making skills;
  • Exceptional and effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Masters Degree or MBA combined with an aviation technical degree;
  • 15+ years of experience
  • 10+ years in the aviation / airlines industry
  • Total Quality, LEAN, or Six Sigma experience.
  • Should Cost or Zero based product modeling and category strategy development.
