ING Solutions Investment Management (ISIM) is looking for a Fund Risk Officer to support the current and planned developments of its activities in Luxembourg.

Your working environment

ISIM is a subsidiary of ING Luxembourg.

ISIM benefits from the status of a Super ManCo as it has the licenses to manage both UCITS and Alternative Investment Fund (AIF).

ISIM oversees Investment Funds (mainly UCITS) distributed by ING group entities.

Launched in 2014, ISIM is the ManCo of ING Group and is pursuing its development as a key tool for Investment Fund solutions within ING Group.

ISIM is looking for a Fund Risk Officer to reinforce its team in the context of the development of its activity.

As a Fund Risk Officer, you will actively contribute to the roles and responsibilities of the Risk Management (RM) function.

In collaboration with the Conducting Officer in charge of the RM function and the other Risk Officer, you may perform the following tasks

Risk management process and fund risk profiling

  • Assist in the definition and review of the risk management process, policy and procedures;
  • Contribute to the identification of the risk profile of each managed UCITS / AIF.
  • Risk limit system and monitoring

  • Review NAV reports on a regular basis to monitor fund activity and identify any unusual item;
  • Perform Pre-Trade Compliance Check when needed;
  • Verify correct set-up of the investment restriction monitoring tools;
  • Review breach reports and escalate to the Conducting Officer in charge of the RM function when needed;
  • Review risk data from external providers;
  • Calculate and review other risk data as appropriate.
  • Risk reporting

  • Prepare reports to the Senior Mgt / Board on current level of risk incurred by each managed UCITS and any actual or foreseeable breaches of their limits;
  • Prepare regulatory reporting in relation with risk aspects.
  • Pricing & valuation

  • Support, where appropriate, the arrangements and procedures for the valuation of assets and derivatives (pricing policies);
  • Prepare reports / draft minutes for the Pricing Committee.
  • Oversight of delegates

  • Support and / or provide input to the oversight functions to perform the initial and ongoing due diligences on delegates;
  • Collaborate in the review and analysis of the Key Performance Indicators & Key Risk Indicators of the Funds(monthly review / exceptions reports from delegates);
  • Attend monthly meeting with delegates (investment managers, fund administrators) as needed.
  • Management of new projects, products and risk management tools

  • Contribute to the analysis of new projects and products from a risk perspective;
  • Review prospectus and other investor documents referring to investment objectives, investment strategies and investment risk;
  • Develop and / or implement new risk management tools in order to improve risk management process.
  • Given the relative small size of the team, the Fund Risk Officer will also have to ensure support / backup with regard to various operational / administrative tasks of the ManCo whenever needed.

  • Knowledge and experience

  • Master in economics / finance or equivalent
  • At least 3 years’ experience in fund (risk) management, market risk management, fund oversight and / or audit of funds
  • Skills

  • Very good quantitative and analytical skills
  • Very good knowledge of financial markets & products
  • Knowledge of UCITS regulatory requirements and risk measures such as VaR
  • Good knowledge of fund accounting mechanisms and NAV calculation
  • Excel proficiency
  • Good knowledge of Bloomberg and / or Visual Basic is a plus
  • Flexible and eager to learn
  • Rigorous and critical scepticism
  • Sense of responsibility and autonomy
  • Team player with good communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Fluency in French and English, knowledge of other languages being considered as an asset
