About the Role :

For our Ferrero Headquarter in Luxembourg , we are looking for an HR Data Engineer who will report to the HR Data Science department's head .

Main Responsibilities :

The incumbent's objective will be to become a key elements' expert resource of the tech stack that HR Data Science department is currently building, with emphasis on :

  • Creating and maintaining optimal data pipeline architecture;
  • Assembling large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements;
  • Identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements : automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.;
  • Building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of HR data sources (SAP HR, SAP BW, SuccessFactors, Concur and other HR tools) using SQL and onpremise / cloud big data’ technologies;
  • Building analytic tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics;
  • Working with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs;
  • Creating data tools for data analyst and data science's team members that assist them in building and optimizing our descriptive and predictive analytics' models;
  • Working with data and analytics' experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems;
  • Being actively involved in different projects;
  • Working in the relationship with Group and local HR, Finance / Controlling, Legal and IT Departments.
  • Who we are looking for :


  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information technology or any other related fields;
  • Minimum 8-10 years of work experience in applied Mathematics, Advanced Analytics, Statistics or Modelling preferably within the HR area;
  • Experience in big data environment and Analytics' projects (descriptive, predictive, prescriptive);
  • Knowledge of AI, Machine Learning, Natural Language Process (NLP) areas;
  • Consolidated Program and Project manager experiences;
  • Work experience within a multinational business environment;
  • Business acumen with creativity, curiosity and with ability to work independently;
  • Strong collaborative approach and team player skills;
  • Ability to speak with and translate findings to business users with little or no technical background;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to excellence with a result-oriented approach;
  • A fast learner who rapidly moves up the learning curve;
  • Ethical and strong personal values.
  • IT Skills

  • Experience with SAP HR, SAP SuccessFactors, Concur, SAP BW and other HR tools;
  • Advanced work SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases;
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets;
  • A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets;
  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable big data’ data stores;
  • Experience in :
  • building and optimizing big data’ data pipelines, architectures, interface techniques and data sets;
  • performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement;
  • building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management;
  • Experience with :
  • relational SQL, NoSQL databases and big data tools : Hadoop, Spark, Databricks, Hanaconda, Kafka, etc;
  • integration tool : SAP PO, SAP SCP Integration, Informatica and data pipeline and workflow management tools;
  • object-oriented / object function scripting languages : Python, R, Java, C++, Scala, etc;Experience with visualization tool Power BI is mandatory, also Tableau and Qlick will be an asset.
  • Languages

  • Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English;
  • Any other European language (i.e. Italian and / or French) will be considered an asset.
