The Role : Amazon is seeking a highly motivated and organized Procurement Specialist to assist with project administration and supplier management.

This position will be part of an exciting, fast-moving business unit, where everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work effectively in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external business partners and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet all business requirements and deliverables
  • Issue purchase orders, work orders and other contract documents
  • Track equipment to meet schedule requirements (includes managing timeframes and resolving issues as they arise)
  • Maintain procurement records and databases (e.g. supplier setup, contract information, catalogs)
  • Liaise with the A / P department in regards to invoices, supplier holds and cost discrepancies
  • Utilize multiple databases and systems to deliver accurate metrics, reporting and analytics
  • Support procurement project activities throughout all areas of the business
  • Day-to-day supplier management, including transactional issue resolution and critical information gathering regarding schedules, invoices, tracking info, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to Amazon’s policies and local procurement policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships
  • Track and communicate supplier delivery schedules with internal partners, contractors and vendors, escalating issues and risks, as required.
  • Inform project budgets as necessary and work with internal and external teams to compile final project costs.
  • Assisting in compiling project turnover and closeout documents for internal customers
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of processes and implementation of procurement best practices to maximize efficiency for the team and improve lead time performance within the procurement process.
  • 3+ years of experience in finance, procurement and / or a customer-experience-driven team.
  • Strong project management skills and experience in managing multiple projects at one time.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret project schedules.
  • Ability to evaluate status of a project, meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads.
  • Strong organizational skills and business acumen.
  • Experience with Coupa or similar Procure-to-Pay system.
  • BA / BS degree from accredited university.
  • Experience with Smartsheet, Procore or similar real estate project and portfolio management tools.
  • Experience in reading contracts.
  • Well rounded communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing key stakeholders
  • Familiarity with business process documentation and improvement.
  • Demonstrates willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing work environment. Ability to effectively manage varying workload requirements;
  • can shift gears comfortably; manages competing demands, delays or unexpected events.

  • Ability to operate with a high level of ambiguity in a dynamic fast paced environment
