Country Finance Officer and Controller in Luxembourg is a key role working closely with the wider finance team in BENELUX, Austria, Germany and France and across Citibank Europe.

In addition to executing the finance function for the Legal Entities in countries the role is also that of a trusted advisor within the local management team.

Key Responsibilities :

Local Regulatory Reporting & Financial Reporting

  • Managing relationship with the regulators and ensure integrity and accuracy of financial and regulatory reporting for Luxembourg with strong knowledge over;
  • IFRS and US GAAP
  • Central Bank Reporting (Prudential and Statistical Reporting)
  • Managed Geography and Client centric Reporting
  • Outlook and Planning process
  • Managing relationship with authorities and work proactively with the regional tax team and local tax advisors to managed efficiently and report;
  • Corporate Income Tax (Luxembourg and US)
  • Compliance with Transfer Pricing regulations including maintaining appropriate documentation
  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with external tax advisors and Luxembourgish tax authorities
  • Controls & Governance

  • Act as a trusted member of Luxembourg local management team and participate in local governance and Business Review meetings
  • Deliver a strong control environment and Quarterly Risk Assessments (QRA)
  • Represent finance and actively participate in all relevant local Governance Committees (CCC, BRCC, ALCO, LEMC, RRGC, ARF)
  • Support with all internal and external audit reviews
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal policies
  • Leadership

  • Ensure the continued success of the Luxembourg franchise by supporting the CCO
  • Contribute to developing top tier finance team and demonstrate a culture of excellence
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all internal stakeholders within Finance and business.
  • Deliver effective oversight over activities covered from offshored locations

  • Knowledge / Experience :

    CFO, Financial Controller or Finance Senior with extensive knowledge of :

  • Financial Reporting (US GAAP and IFRS)
  • Regulatory Reporting (US and / or European preferred)
  • Tax (experience dealing with tax authorities and advisors)
  • Banking products and financial instruments offered for Corporate and Private Bank businesses
  • Experience with managing offshored activities and liaising with external regulators and auditors

    Qualifications :

  • Minimum Bachelors’ degree from Finance.
  • Chartered Accountant or equivalent preferred
  • Qualification with more than 10 years of experience (multinational experience would be an advantage)
  • Skills :

  • Professional approach and excellent management, financial control and regulatory reporting skills
  • Excellent communication skills with professional and diplomatic approach Reengineering, project management and process change skills
  • Ability to engage subject matter experts (internal and external) to address and resolve issues
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies quickly
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office applications
  • English (French language skills an advantage)
