The Amazon Transportation Services Europe (ATS EU NPI) Network Planning and Implementation team is looking for a detail-oriented, highly analytical, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Network Program Manager.
This highly visible role will centrally help develop a best-in-class Transportation network for the European marketplace to deliver high quality customer experience, while minimizing cost and improving fulfillment speed.
The candidate will also lead the volume forecasting and capacity management for Sort Centers across Europe. The role will involve understanding the physical and virtual transportation processes, from our Fulfillment centers(FCs), Sort Centers(SCs) till our Last mile carriers.
As part of the Network Design team you will combine business process knowledge, data analysis and senior stakeholder management to identify and drive programs within our transportation network.
To be successful in the role, you need to be an excellent communicator with a strong analytical mindset, able to influence across business functions and manage stakeholders' expectations effectively.
You will work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment that requires you to be detail-oriented and comfortable in working with multiple business and technical teams.
Your responsibilities will include :
Development and execution of network design and optimization strategy to support cost reductions, increase delivery speed and improve delivery experience for Amazon customers.
Collaborating with multiple stakeholders within ATS team (Sort Centers, Line Haul, Amazon Air, Finance) and outside ATS team with EU Customer Fulfillment, and Amazon Logistics.
Continually optimize the network through evaluation of changes and driving network related projects.
Managing volumes forecasts and capacity planning on a weekly basis to ensure right performance while optimizing the cost for the entire network
Improving / automating the decision making and network audit process to improve efficiency.
Developing new metrics, dashboards to monitor the efficiency of the Transportation network.
Working closely with colleagues (Operations Research Scientists and Network Planners) to drive analysis, business cases and alignment with business stake-holders.
Supporting the development of Analytical Tools defining the functional specifications and being a primary user of these tools.
Drive cross functional teams to deliver programs.
Completed Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or another technical field.
Experience in similar role including Program / project management, Consulting, Process improvement or Operations management
Experience in complex data processing and analyzing, drawing conclusions from data, and building basic models that support business decisions
Ability to think quantitatively and qualitatively about operating processes and outcomes
Strong data processing and analysis skills, ability to produce, interpret and draw conclusions from data
Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently in an often times ambiguous environment
Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and operational know-how
English proficiency (written / spoken)
MBA or Master’s Degree
Familiarity with statistics and application of statistics in operations
Knowledge of SQL, Oracle BI, Tableau, Unix, Visual Basic and / or other programming languages
Experience in Statistical Software such as R, SAS, SPSS, MINITAB
Experience driving process improvement, familiarity with 6 sigma / lean, green belt certification
Proficiency in any other language Spanish, Italian, French, and / or German preferred
