General Summary :

The Director of Portfolio Market Development is responsible for providing guidance and direction for the Syniverse portfolio.

This includes working with customers to identify new functionality or service(s) to address a specific need. The role also evaluates new requirements and determines if the new functionality or service(s) would be a viable addition across the customer base.

This role also works closely with the rest of the Portfolio team and Sales to ensure new services are in within the strategic direction of the company and aligned with the portfolio vision.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Provides leadership and direction for the creation of specific use cases across a variety of Syniverse products
  • Manages renewals, creating a strategic renewal framework and providing the necessary direction to the Product teams for the renewal execution
  • Creating and documenting concepts for new products to meet existing or anticipated market needs
  • Direct the development of business cases for new initiatives and drive overall alignment with Syniverse strategy and business needs
  • Provide Product leadership and vision in meetings with Sales and customer executives to develop collaborative market strategies
  • Develop and present market, customer and competitive intelligence packages
  • Develop executive-level relationships with key customer decision makers / influencers
  • Represent Syniverse with public speaking at industry events / shows
  • Expand Syniverse market position via participation in industry committees, task forces and working groups / forums
  • Provides subject matter expertise with respect to competition, industry, and assigned product segment or region
  • Job Requirements :

  • BS in engineering or other industry relevant field desired
  • 8 - 10 years Communications industry experience
  • 6 - 8 years of strategic planning experience in consulting, market research and analysis, business intelligence, financial planning and / or quantitative analysis
  • Strong technical and / or sales engineering experience
  • Able to apply business logic, technical expertise and knowledge of Syniverse products and services to analyze business and technical needs to arrive at new solutions or services to meet customer needs
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Financial and analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of product development process
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • International experience a plus
