DEPUTY CFO, PRIVATE EQUITY HOUSE (M / F)

In the context of a strong development of its business and continued growth, our client wishes to strengthen its Luxembourg team in charge of fund administration and fund services and is currently looking for a Deputy CFO to be based in Luxembourg.

The fund administration team in Luxembourg consists of 25 employees and has been growing steadily over the past years.

The Deputy CFO will act in a senior capacity as a strategic and operational leader under the direct supervision of the Chief Financial Officer.

The Deputy CFO will work closely with the fund administration team and will interact regularly with the investor relations team, the group's finance & accounting team and senior management.

THE JOB :

Key responsibilities cover essentially the following areas :

  • Work closely with the CFO in providing leadership, management and oversight of the fund administration and fund services function;
  • supporting the CFO in the realisation of the strategic and day-to-day operational objectives

  • Control and oversight of fund accounting and fund administration tasks for a broad range of fund vehicles and investment structures
  • Control and oversight of accounting and tax matters, including supervision of the preparation of quarterly Funds' NAVs, financial statements, quarterly management accounts for Luxembourg investment vehicles, regulatory filings, and tax returns
  • Participate in the creation and launch of new funds
  • Provide expertise on accounting under various GAAP (French, UK, Luxembourg and IFRS) and other technical matters (e.g. new fund launches, capital calls, capital distributions, management fees, waterfalls, carried interest calculation, etc.)
  • Ensure that high quality standards and accuracy are always maintained. Ensure that control procedures are in place, consistently applied and fully documented;
  • monitor and further develop internal control procedures, increase operational efficiencies, ensure that documentation is regularly updated.

    Support the annual ISAE report productionLiaise effectively with external auditors, regulatory authorities, and other constituents

  • Collaborate closely with the group's finance function in the preparation of financial information required for the quarterly financial disclosure to the market / shareholders
  • Lead and participate in initiatives to further standardize and automate processes, increase efficiencies, and adopt new technology solutions;
  • prior experience in the implementation of fund accounting software solutions would be a real plus (but not required)

  • Support the preparation of investor reports and responses to ad-hoc queries
  • THE CANDIDATE PROFILE :

    Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 12-15 years of experience within the private equity sector or the fund industry; prior experience in fund audit with an audit / accounting firm is a clear plus
  • Master's / Bachelor's Degree, with a qualification in accounting / finance or related field
  • Proven managerial skills with a prior experience in managing and supervising a team
  • Strategic thinker with an ability to master both the details and the big picture : the right candidate will need to be both hands-on and able to take a step back when needed
  • Deep technical expertise in fund accounting, accounting standards and reporting obligations in the fund industry
  • Ability to build and develop relationships with internal / external stakeholders as well as previous experience working with auditors
  • Proactive, dynamic, and solution-driven individual; thriving in a fast-paced work environment
  • Work with flexibility, commitment and a strong team player
  • Confident in presenting to / liaising with senior management and external stakeholders
  • Fluent in English and in French (mandatory); excellent verbal and written skills
